I build and run Encyclia, a project that bridges ORCID records into the ActivityPub-based fediverse. The idea is to make ORCID records followable, so that when a researcher publishes a new work, that information can appear in your social inbox. Independently of that, I have a personal website where, among other things, I host my own academic publications. Is it reasonable to think I could make an LED lamp inside a porcelain jar, with a proximity sensor to turn it on when the lid is open?

I see adafruit has sensors & LEDs, but I'm not sure how much circuit design would be required (zero experience) or how many lights & how much power I need.

I imagine it only becomes practical as a table lamp if I make it plug-in, but a battery option would be magical. Electronics should be small at the base of the jar.

Hunger striker Heba Muraisi has passed day 66 without food, & Kamran Ahmed passed day 60.

Medical experts have warned that they are entering a phase where irreversible harm & the risk of death increase sharply.

Trigger of the protests was economic but people also hate the Islamic dictatorship with public hangings, whippings, beating and killing of women who dare to expose their hair, all enforced by corrupt Guards of the Revolution.

Having been put on a list by their author, I simply do not feel comfortable continuing to support first-party integrations there.

For the time being, error reporting will be worse. I'm reviewing alternatives (including a new diagnostics crate). For markup it's... back to YAML for now.

I'm sad about this just like I'm sad about the whole thing. I am not interested in migrating to forks of either of those projects. Thanks for your attention.

そういえば、YouTubeで全世界に公開されている、と感じてしまうけど、YouTubeが見られる国と地域、見られない国と地域って実際はどうなっているんだろう？

ということでPerplexityに調べて貰いました。（本当かどうかは各自確認してね）

■ 完全にほぼ見られない国

政府レベルでYouTube自体が長期的にブロックされている、または一般市民が事実上アクセスできない国があります。
​
中国：2009年以降、中国本土では恒常的にブロックされており、代わりにYoukuやBilibiliなど国内サービスが使われています。
​
北朝鮮：一般市民は世界向けインターネット自体にほぼアクセスできず、YouTubeも利用不可です。
​
トルクメニスタン：強いネット検閲によりYouTubeを含む多くのサイトが制限されています。
​
イランやエリトリアなども、政治状況や検閲により長期的・実質的なアクセス制限がある国として挙げられます。
