國中中文課讀過的《列子》選：

齊田氏祖於庭，食客千人。中坐有獻魚雁者，田氏視之，乃歎曰：「天之於民厚矣！殖五穀，生魚鳥以為之用。」眾客和之如響。鮑氏之子年十二，預於次，進曰：「不如君言。天地萬物與我並生，類也。類無貴賤，徒以小大智力而相制，迭相食；非相為而生之。人取可食者而食之，豈天本為人生之？且蚊蚋噆膚，虎狼食肉，非天本為蚊蚋生人、虎狼生肉者哉？」

大意是：上天創造的人、動植物以及非生物等一律平等，世界不是為了人類所造。

感覺這篇課文對基督教來講，也算牴觸教義（天造萬物是為人管理為人用，如創世紀1:26）的課文，但是沒有像演化假說和LGBT議題那麼受人注目。

How do y’all organize your or workflow?

Are you a desktop environment user that treats it as a turnkey environment for all your needs and don’t tweak it much?

Do you just use the tty and terminal programs really leveraging the power of the unix-y shell?

Or do you play in the middle ground somewhere and use a tiling wm like me?

For me, I treat my install like a unix-y flavored lisp machine. I don’t need much gui integration that much outside of the terminal, my wm’s lisp process socket and emacs, to be happy.

Tonight I had to do a few things on my wife’s iPhone 13 Pro Max (which I used for two years, from 2021 to 2023). I really struggled to read the text, especially in the browser. Has something changed with the recent versions of iOS, or has my eyesight worsened that much in two years? I mean, I know my vision has changed, but while I can read everything easily on my Pixel, I just couldn't manage on the iPhone

So there's this fairly popular life pro tip for reviving stale bread by wetting the crust and then baking it for a few minutes

Have y'all heard that before? Does anyone else do that?

And more importantly, am I the only one who started rinsing leftover pizza before tossing it into the air fryer cause the bread thing worked so well

I learnt a long time ago not to respond to SMS messages like "How are you today?". But when I was off work for a day feeling sick and I got a message "Are you going in to work today?" I was only 80% confident it was fake.

And I responded and it was fake.

So now I don't know if "Are you going into work today?" is just a standard message that gets blasted out in the hope that it catches sick people by chance, or whether someone (an AI?) had seen my mention of testing positive for Covid here and somehow connected that to my phone number. Probably the former.

Sometimes, it feels like absolutely every single person (outside of Fedi) might be just a horrible terrible person. Then just occasionally - just a very weird chance 'fly on the wall' situation, and you witness an interaction, and you think.... people might actually be OK. ❤️

It is a long-standing tradition for Microsoft to use a runtime copy of Windows as a part of Windows Setup. But the copy is so stripped-down, it cannot run anything but the setup program (winsetup.bin).

OR IS IT?

A mini-challenge for myself: create a semi-working desktop only based on runtime Windows 3.10 shipped with Windows 95 installer but not using any other Microsoft products.
