세종호텔 고공농성을 해제합니다.
그러나 복직없이 절대로 끝나지 않습니다.

고진수 지부장이 1월 14일(수) 13시, 336일만에 고공농성을 해제하고 땅으로 내려와 15시에 예정된 7차교섭에 직접 참여합니다. 고공농성은 해제하지만 투쟁은 계속될 것입니다. 복직없이 절대로 끝나지 않습니다. 그동안 함께 해주신 동지들께 감사드리며 앞으로도 해고자들의 복직 투쟁에 함께 해주실 것을 믿고 저희도 끝까지 싸워나가겠습니다.

코로나를 핑계로 민주노조를 파괴하기 위해 강행한 정리해고가 기어이 5년차에 들어섰습니다. 250명이 정규직으로 일하던 일터가 정규직 20여명과 비정규직 40여명만 남은 일터로 바뀌었습니다. 그런 구조조정과 정리해고를 노동위원회와 3심 재판부는 모두 정당하다고 판결했습니다.

부당한 해고와 부당한 판결에 맞서 3년을 싸웠고 부당한 계엄에 맞서 싸우다 세종호텔 앞 도로위 구조물 고공에 올라 또다시 336일을 싸웠습니다. 2월 13일 고공농성을 시작하고 이틀만에 세종호텔 앞 8차선 도로를 가득 메운 수만명의 노동자시민들은 해고자 복직을 함께 외쳤습니다.

윤석열 탄핵 이후 새로운 정부가 들어섰지만 이전처럼 민주주의는 또다시 일터의 문 앞에서 멈춰서고 노동자들과 차별받는 이들은 여전히 힘들고 여전히 고통 속에서 살고 있습니다.

서울 시내 한복판에서 4년이 넘도록 복직을 요구하며 농성을 하고, 도로 위 구조물에 올라 사계절이 바뀌도록 북을 치며 복직을 요구했는데, 사측은 복직만은 안된다고 합니다. 정작 333개의 객실을 보유한 세종호텔은 정리해고 1년 만에 흑자로 전환되고, 매년 최대치의 객실수익을 갈아치우고 있습니다.

세종대학교 사학재단이 운영하는 수익사업체인 세종호텔은 수백명의 정규직이 일하던 나름 ‘괜찮은’ 일자리였습니다. 하지만 이윤만을 추구하는 비정규직법이 하청구조를 사회적으로 강요했고 복수노조 교섭창구단일화 악법에 어용노조가 만들어지고 자본으로부터 독립된 노조가 탄압을 받아 소수노조로 전락했습니다. 그리고 재난을 핑계로 정리해고법을 악용하여 끝내 정규직은 1/10로 줄어들었습니다.

세종호텔의 이윤은 빠르게 회복되는데 일하던 노동자들은 해고로 쫓겨나고 일하려는 노동자들에게도 이제 좋은 일자리는 제공할 기미조차 보이지 않습니다. 좋은 일자리는 기업의 힘으로만 만들어지지 않습니다. 기업을 넘어 사회의 근간인 노동자들의 권리, 노동권이 보장되는 일터여야만 좋은 일자리가 될 수 있습니다.

세종호텔 해고노동자들은 이전에 괜찮은 일터였던 세종호텔을 기억합니다. 그리고 지금도 충분히 더 많은 노동자들이 호텔리어가 되어 일할 수 있는 일터가 세종호텔임을 의심하지 않습니다.

고공농성 투쟁은 이제 해제하지만 지금까지도 그랬듯이 앞으로도 함께 해주시는 수많은 연대동지들과 함께 일터로 돌아가기 위한 싸움을 멈추지 않을 것입니다.
