As a professional source code reviewer, I gotta agree with “We cannot overstate the extent to which just reading the OpenSSL source code has become miserable.” The answer to “how does OpenSSL—” is always “I don’t know and I don’t have six months to find out.” This is not true of alternative libraries with the same functionality.

It's been a bit over 3 years since I've joined #Mastodon after the big Twitter meltdown. It took me a while to warm up to Mastodon (and to learn how to use it properly), but today it's probably my favourite social network.
For a while I was using Bsky a bit more, as it reminded me of the good old days of Twitter, but gradually my usage patterns shifted to Mastodon. I still use Bsky (mostly to rant about Bulgarian politics these days), but in my mind Mastodon is my "home" social network.
There are still some things that I find frustrating (e.g. things like likes and boosts always seem to be out of sync on various clients), but you can't have it all, right? On the bright side - at least I'm sure this network won't be flooded with ads one day…
Still, I often miss the simple days when everyone was using a single network…
