For my second post I would like to highlight two amazing Fedi frens of mine who bring me hope: @mycrowgirlLisa 🦔 and @catsaladCat 🐈🥗 (D.Burch) :paw::paw:. They spread goodness in ways that lift others up while remaining grounded in the difficult realities of the world. They give me hope.

Cat is an abundantly wholesome presence on Fedi and this instance. Their gentle kindness, their top tier cat photos/shitposts/memes and their desire to boost others (giving users the fun experience of a rush of likes) help make this place the awesome spot it is. It is great having them here. Their posts give many the boost they need... Myself included. A beacon in the dark when it is the hardest to shine.

Lisa is basically a badass swamp witch. They rescue poor bat frens, are a caretaker, folk art enthusiast, lover of planes, writer of sweet notes to friends, nature appreciator, science lover and a person who makes you feel seen for who you are and make you feel loved. You'd be hard pressed to find a soul as genuine as theirs. They bring their sense of wonder in the world to others in a way that makes you appreciate the world and your passions.

You two are awesome :neobot_heart_blue:

If your code type checks and you don't have `Any` or `# type: ignore` then you won't get type errors at runtime.

Right?

Wrong...

```py
x: object = []
hash(x)
```

This code type checks but raises a `TypeError` at runtime...

What's going on here?

Is this a “problem” with the OOP hierarchy, because subclasses of `object` may not implement `__hash__` and actively disallow the usage of `object.__hash__` as a fallback?

It's late here, so maybe I'm just overlooking something really simple?

RE: mstdn.chrisalemany.ca/@chris/1

This morning Chris Alemany has a poll up asking when you think will shut the door on free flowing expression either by being bought by billionaires or catering to their crypto VC owners.

This should be a real concern. We are headed to a crucial mid-term election. Should this pivot happen this summer it will cripple Democratic campaigns at a consequential moment.

We need to be smarter than this. Pack your social media 'go bag'. Start building a Fediverse presence before it's too late.
