今天跟朋友聊天得出的猜想：做一份耗費心力的工作直接影響到好好讀書的能力。離職之後我的耐心才慢慢恢復，不會看不進去書、一直滑無腦youtube影片。果然wlb不只是時間層面的問題，更像是保護自己有限的認知資源。

@twostrawsPaul Hudson hey Paul, I'm enjoying your Swift AI Playbook. I'm curious though: in the section on managing context, your suggested approach is to take the most recent n messages from the conversation and discard the rest;

Most tutorials I've seen suggest using the LLM to summarise the conversation and then use the summarised transcript as the base context moving forward.

Do you plan to cover that option as well, or if not, is there a reason you wouldn't recommend that approach?

Mit Gegenzöllen tun wir uns übrigens nur selber weh. Wir sollten lieber Cory Doctorow zuhören und das Antiumgehungsgesetz (und vergleichbare Gesetze) abschaffen.
Das sagt zwar kaum jemandem noch was, ist aber verantwortlich dafür, dass Technik immer schlechter wird und besonders US-Konzerne davon profitieren. Eingeführt wurde es u.a. weil die USA drohten, sonst Zölle einzuführen. Und wenn sie das eh schon machen, hat der Tiger ja seinen Zahn verloren.

Damit würden wir gleich 4 Fliegen mit einer Klappe schlagen:
1) Angemessene Reaktion auf Trump ohne einen Zollstreit zu riskieren.
2) Keine höheren Preise bei uns durch Gegenzölle.
3) Förderung der heimischen Wirtschaft und Deregulierung an einer sehr sinnvollen Stelle.
4) Maßgebliche Verbesserung unserer Technikgestaltung.

Irgendwann muss man eine Grenze setzen, die Frage ist nur, ob das nach der ersten oder nach der zehnten Zahlung geschieht.

Ob das nach Grönland, nach Island oder nach Helgoland geschieht.

Und man muss dem Aggressor auch irgendwann die Maskerade nehmen. Nicht mehr nach außen so tun, als gäbe man freiwillig. Den Brutalo als Brutalo erkennbar machen.

I truly want to purchase a M5 MacBook (air or pro). I also truly want to wake up from the dream and insist in preparing the day during the war where our clouds/account will be locked/exploited by Donald. As much as I love the hardware, the experience, the integration with my devices, i am as much worried about all this not surviving remote locking.

Then there is the thinkpad way of life, where laptops are bulky and un-sexy as hell. But really owned and less likely to be locked (?) in case of conflict.

If I could find a slim yet solid laptop, arm64, some kind of BSD MacBook Air with 32Gb/2Tb, I would be happy.

2026 didn't kick off well for us. Adam (2 months old) was hospitalized due to a chest infection. We are home now, but still need to isolate.

This, among other things, has impacted my work on the CSS course for the last two weeks, meaning the launch will be pushed to late Feb, if not later :(

IDK if you saw this thread but this video (while very much politically focused on "revolution") does speak to that scaffolding work, where the artists & philosophers do the visioning work that, once the spark of revolution occurs, provides the WHAT NOW for the next phase. It's laying the foundation and framework for that new world... it's the seeds we are both planting and growing (like so many because again it's widespread, mycelium, not a singular thing that scales).

밈도 밈인데 사람들이 호불호인 좋고(like) 싫음(dislike)의 수준을 자꾸 선악 수준인 좋고(good) 나쁜 것(bad, wrong, harmful)으로 오판하는 게 문제라고 생각해요. 진짜 밈으로 쓰는 사람도 있는데 그거 구분 못하고 내가 좋아하는 건 good이고, 내가 싫어하는건 개 나쁜 bad다! 그러니까 사라져야한다!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 그걸 지켜보는 나 : 아니 니가 싫어한다는게 도덕적 의미로 나쁜게 아냐!!!!

Nutzt du , oder ? "Just the Browser" deaktiviert in Sekunden all den Ballast, den moderne Browser dir aufzwingen (KI Dienste, Einkauffunktionen, Klickbait...).

Übrigens OHNE den Browser selbst zu verändern. Gefahrlos!

Und wenn du unabhängiger von US Zeugs werden willst, kannst du auf Ecosia oder Vivaldi umsteigen . Ich hab es getan und nicht bereut.
