What is Hackers' Pub?

I've just send a mildly amusing email to an abuse@ team in Oracle Cloud...

Some numpty has spent the last ~5 hours trying to login to a few of my domains using WordPress shenanigans.

Only... they followed all HTTP redirects, one of which took them to a 23 MiB ZIP file.

They downloaded it 1394 times before I put a DROP in place! 😂

Thanks to compression, that's about 20 GiB fo traffic, and a sustained ~9 Mbit/s. *giggles* (thankfully I don't pay through the nose for transit)

@RickiTarrRicki Crush Bandicute Tarr in about 2014 I did a pen test on a Belgian bank’s ATMs. They were running Windows XP Service Pack 2. I was like “you know there was a third one, right?” SP3 was 2008. Of course, I had a long pile of other findings too. When I came back in 2015, all they had accomplished in a year was upgrading to SP3. Not one other thing.

I generally don’t use that bank’s ATMs if I’m in Belgium.
