Ein liebevoll arrangierter veganer Brunch-Tisch auf einem Holzbrett, fotografiert aus der Vogelperspektive. Im Vordergrund dominiert eine angeschnittene dunkle Schokoladen-Erdnussbutter-Torte auf einem weißen Teller, dekoriert mit Puderzucker und einem cremigen Muster. Ein weißer Kuchenheber liegt daneben, bereits mit Kuchenresten. Hinter der Torte sind mehrere durchsichtige Kunststoffboxen mit verschiedenen veganen Snacks zu sehen: Cashewnüsse, Kekse und andere Knabbereien. Yesterday the air was so polluted in Berlin (Germany) that I had to wear a mask when being outside.
Today again is air quality is still between poor and very poor depending where you are in the city.

However, the city is not taking any measures such as slower driving speeds or traffic restrictions. Also no warnings on the civil protection apps such as Nina or WarnWetter (which usually inform of pollution events such as fumes due to fires).

Americans, if you have not done first aid training in the last five years, I strongly recommend getting a refresher now, and starting to carry a trauma kit with you when you leave the house.

It looks like most of the US Red Cross first aid courses are very superficial, so you'll have to go digging for local resources. The syllabus I recommend is the one offered by the UK and most EU Red Cross groups, including their optimal mental health response unit, and ideally something on using Narcan and Epi pens. You can find it here: redcrossfirstaidtraining.co.uk

If you're piecing together a course from other offerings, you definitely want to make sure that you're doing CPR basics, massive hemorrhage/bleed stop, and shock/stroke at least. If you can find a trainer who can also add to the UK curriculum a treatment protocol for tear gas and pepper spray, that's great. You're going to receive a ton of information in these courses, so please take good notes (and hopefully you'll get the training slides to take home). Make up your own cheat sheets for the core diagnostic procedures — ADCDE/MARCH, AVPU etc. and keep them in your kit. Better yet, also go with some friends — it's always more fun that way and you'll retain more when you're comfortable and having fun — and then spend an evening every month or so going through some basic drills to keep each other fresh.

In 2008 I had a work blackberry which I used to scroll the net on sometimes, You could roll its little wheel and go down the page, and press the wheel in to follow a hovered link. It was almost like Lynx in appearance with low res jpgs and it made no attempt to follow web standards or display pages "correctly" and yet, and yet, the font was large enough to read without destroying the eyesight, the pages loaded very fast, overall it was 1000 times better experiences than using the net on a smartphone today. Also no fucking notifications!

Tenhle týden nějak srůstám, takže jsem to vzal zlehka a sednul do auta na Zlaté Uši. V létě hlava na hlavě, v zimě si to člověk může užít víc v klidu…i když kempy jsou míň prázdný, než bych čekal.

Mezi nevýhody zimy taky patří, že zapomenuté rukavice zamrazí.
