"Imagine having to watch the videos of your son being murdered in the street so you could scream NO, NO, THESE ARE LIES against the disgusting monsters saying it was your child who was there to do murder — and who never informed you of your son’s death at all."

"We should also call what happened to Pretti an execution because, as we learned in the hours that followed, the monstrous Trump regime essentially sanctioned this killing in the rush to exonerate the perpetrators and blame the victim."

"Put simply, the Trump administration’s narrative around the killing of Alex Pretti has collapsed. Administration officials were deployed to defend it on television this morning, but even conservative media was openly skeptical."

In his talk, "Rewrite, Optimize, Repeat," Luca Palmieri walked through a real C-to-Rust migration — including discarded designs, profiling rabbit holes, and the breakthroughs that made the Rust version faster and safer: youtube.com/watch?v=H0AUP2OgppE

Talks that share concrete tradeoffs and hard-earned wins like this resonate strongly with the audience.

From The Dunes

Near sunset, and the low light is casting warm tones across the soft rocks and scree at the foot of the mountain.

Close cloud sits atop, catching the last rays of the sun. The quiet lagoon shelters from the worst of the sea and the yellowing grass forms a frame.

October, Kambhorn (650m/2133ft) and Brunnhorn (435m/1427ft) at Stokksnes peninsular in Hornafjörður, south-eastern .

A colour photo of a mountain with a cloudy cap. Low sunlight from the left is highlighting the lower slopes and some of the protruding cloud. In the foreground is a line of yellowed grasses, beyond that is a calm stretch of water reflecting the mountains.

Looking out my window I can see some people out shoveling off their steps. I get the logic of doing it in the middle of Toronto's current major snowstorm, but at the same time my mind clearly doesn't work that way (because it thinks they're crazy, it's only going to get more snow).

I keep wondering how many people managed to fully leave . (for a nice summary of common reasons to leave check out sfconservancy.org/GiveUpGitHub/)

I mean, even if you move your own projects to something like , you’ll still likely have to interact with projects hosted on GitHub. If Musk didn't manage to make everyone abandon Twitter, I'm not sure what are the odds of a mass exodus from GitHub these days.

People spend billions of dollars ton advertising, normalization, and bullying to try to convince you that hegemony, patriarchy, and oppression are the natural order of things and that we would always ultimately end up here. If there were truly no other options for how to live as a society, would they need to expend so much effort?

Why citizen journalism is so vital. If legacy media fail to report on it, there'll be no record at all.

"..ICE is not required to report any use-of-force incidents against the public, typically defined as resulting in a death or serious...injury. Indeed, we know little about the full extent of ongoing violence from any federal law enforcement agency, in part due to a decades-long legislative failure to establish a compulsory national database on use-of-force incidents."

A bohužel to funguje. Ale děje se i tohle facebook.com/dnesnaukrajine.cz:

"That quilters on Instagram or a Facebook account dedicated to New England gravestones have decided enough, is enough, is one thing. But, judging from the comments, it seems like the government has lost the support of r/military as well."

Where is the line for you?

At which point are you saying "that's enough! I have to stand up against this!" and actually go to a protest against this administration, boycott this company, or delete a social media account?

Where is the line for you to take action?

You don't have to answer here, but you should have an answer to this for yourself.
