NDP MP Leah Gazan is backing a petition to have the federal government intervene in the matter of the unwarranted and anti-trans restrictions on gender affirming health-care in Alberta arising from Bill-26.

The petition (E-7005 (Healthcare)8) dropped yesterday, and I haven’t seen any mention of it cross my scrolls yet, so please boost this hard and wide.

Last week I hooked up with @jazjaz :twt: :wales_flag: from Tŵt Cymru, the community-owned Welsh social network. We’re combining forces to launch the first Tŵt app on March 1st, Dydd Gŵyl Dewi Sant (St David’s Day).

The Tŵt mobile app is vibrantly Welsh, easily accessible for new users, and a model for social communities worldwide. Reflecting the Pethau Bychain (Little Things) campaign behind the app. It’s all about building a digital commons from small acts of hospitality and kindness.

Welcome to Wednesday on Wednesday where it is Wednesday all the time! Wednesday is an 8 year old tortoiseshell cat. She is blind and currently living in Illinois with flipping.rocks/@loren . Her interests are laying in sunbeams, playing with her new toys (thank you to those who have helped settle her in, we really appreciate your support), and sniffing the corners. Follow here for lots more pictures of this very sweet and silly cat.

All the “faster Homebrew in Rust” projects are a bit like parsing HTML with regex.

The simplest use-cases seem to work, it’s easier and there’s just edge cases to fix.

Fixing these edge cases requires recreating Homebrew and using Ruby (which will be slower again).

These little USB-C adapters are neat! I can get most typical project voltages through Werewolf's VFLEX power adapters, and use them as a substitute for my bench power supply—in some cases.

(Note: Werewolf sent me a couple sets to test.)

The wonderful queer bookstore Cross & Crows in Vancouver is at risk of closing. Please consider donating to keep this cozy community space open! They host great readings and stock a wide array of queer books. A gem. gofund.me/a4e53f57f

Dutch satirical newsletter De Speld has been struggling more than ever to come up with unique satire.

Why, you may wonder?

Listen to this headline:

"Large tech companies warn people that if they keep drinking water at their current rate, we will be without artificial intelligence."
