Hackers' Pub is a place for software engineers to share their knowledge and experience with each other. It's also an ActivityPub-enabled social network, so you can follow your favorite hackers in the fediverse and get their latest posts in your feed.

An image from some of Scotland's most remote mountains. It's no small feat to get out here, but it's worth it every time.

Made last year when me and Benjamin Maze took a group of awesome clients hiking and wild camping here; we were treated to all manner of brilliant conditions from hail to blue skies. (Join us in September 2026 for the second iteration of our Northwest Highlands photography adventure!)

いま、MacBook Pro 13-inch, M1, 2020を使っているのだけど、さすがにスピードが落ちてきたし、買い替えることを検討した方がいいかなとは思っている。

ではProとAirのどちらにするかを検討したのだけど、普段やっていることを考えるとアプリをごりごりビルドしたり常にサービスを動かしたりとかはしないし、HDMIはそんなに使わないし、アダプタは手持ちがあるからThunderbolt 4×2とMagSafeがあればよい。

なのでプロセッサがM4とかであれば13インチMacBook Airでいいような気がして、試しにChatGPTにも入れてみたら、完全に同意見だった。

Teilzeit mit "Leute, die weniger als 32 Stunden arbeiten sind aber produktiver" zu verteidigen ist etwas schräg: Das Recht auf Teilzeit ist ein Arbeitnehmer*innenrecht, dass es erlauben soll, die eigene Arbeitsbelastung und das Leben besser miteinander zu vereinbahren. Es geht nicht darum noch produktiver in kürzerer Zeit zu sein (ein Produktivitätsgewinn, von dem Arbeitnehmer*innen ja eh meist nichts haben: Die Einkommensreduktion bezieht sich ja nicht auf Produktivität sondern Zeit.
Wir haben alle die Sichtweise der Arbeitgeber viel zu stark verinnerlicht. Unsere Rechte als Arbeitnehmer müssen wir auch dann verteidigen, wenn sie die Produktivität und den Gewinn der Arbeitgeber _nicht_ erhöhen.

Having just fixed a nasty tuning bug in HackRF firmware, I have some tips for anyone using RFFC5072 (or any integrated synthesizer/mixer from Qorvo) in their project.

Tip #1: Use our code. We've used RFFC5072 for 14 years in the HackRF project, and I think every open source implementation is based on ours. We've learned some things over the years, so it's probably best to start from our latest work.

With the arrests of journalists, ICE, FBI election office raids, threats to arrest Obama, charges on Comey and Powell and James, I can’t exactly what the threat level is. Is this a competitive autocracy and Democracy is over, or is this a hapless blundering one making moves that never truly work?

‪It is rather beautiful here in Oulu 🇫🇮, right now. Absolutely no filters needed at all 🤌
-20°C, wind chill -28°C.

This is one of our main cycling and walking routes (#8) and here we have a 5 km stretch with ZERO at-grade crossings with motor traffic. I repeat, it's physically impossible to meet any motor traffic here. So it is very peaceful, safe and comfortable to ride and walk completely uninterrupted. Just bliss.
