This move has been on my todo list since last year, and I'm grateful to have Hachyderm now host my main account.

As a re- , I'm Bogdan, a Romanian émigré that's passionate about computing. To put a label on my passion is a bit hard, but I've so far dabbled in Deep Learning, Statistical Modelling, Distributed Systems, Platform Engineering, Hardware Hacking, Cryptography, InfoSec (jack of all trades, master of one type sh).

I consider myself quite far-Left, generally opposed to capitalism due to it's exploitation, destruction of natural habitats and stunting of human evolution and progress. I believe in a Rainbow Coalition of generally left-leaning people as something to strive for. I have the loosely held belief that mass immigration in its current shape is modern day colonialism where the resource that's extracted is human labour.

I consider AI a marketing term for the broad deployment of Deep Learning models, but I'm not a follower of the Western-dogma that AI performance is computationally bound. I believe in the ability of machine learning to be used for good, and that those capabilities will be unlocked by research done by followers of the algorithmic efficiency over "just one more datacentre bro". I believe Chinese AI labs are the counterbalance to the insane spending bubble that Western AI companies have gotten into.

I also blog, and I recently wrote about why you might reconsider using 🇹🇼 when referring to Taiwan.

Bezüglich des Empfangs von Sprachnachrichten war mir schon immer klar, wieso ich sie hasse. Zum Lesen brauche ich nur meine Augen und bin 10x schneller als beim Zuhören. In der Öffentlichkeit muss ich vorher Kopfhörer rauskramen und aufsetzen oder mir das Phone albern ans Ohr halten. Alles daran ist gegenüber einer (meinetwillen dann eben diktierten) Textnachricht eine Zumutung. (1/2)

오늘 화장실 바닥에 물때 낀 거 싹 청소하고 현관에 흙먼지 묻은 것도 싹 청소하고 로봇청소기 충전대도 청소하고 싱크대 수챗구멍도 청소하고 냉장고에 있던 소비기한 지난 식재료들도 다 정리하고 방에 있는 쓰레기통도 다 비우고 진짜 갓생 오브 갓생을 다 살아버림 이 많은 일을 해낼 수 있었던 비결이 바로 뭘까 그것은 바로

One thing that the discussions I’m seeing on security, encryption, and backdoors is that it reminds me so much of what resilience and safety engineering went through a few decades ago

“Zero incidents” doesn’t work as a mindset in resilience *or* security. So the question for me is what are the arguments we can make and what are the tools we can build that enable this mindset. Rather than saying “no, it doesn’t work like that. go away” can we say “no, it doesn’t work like that, but here’s what *does*”?

스즈미야 하루히의 우울 애니 다 봤다

막 취향을 집중타격하거나 잊을 수 없는 상처를 주거나 끝없는 유잼을 주는 작품류는 아니었고 다소 특이한 설정으로 캐릭터성이 뚜렷한 애들이 거대한 사건부터 사소한 일까지 같이 겪는 평범한 작품군이었음
근데 왜 인기를 탈 수 있는지는 알겠더라 작품 설정도 그렇고 개인적으로 이런 단체활동류는 다같이 함께 사이좋게가 많은데 여기는 하루히를 제외한 3명 및 약간의 1명의 목적을 제외하면 다들 비즈니스 일시적연맹 관계임 그게 또 이 작품만의 재미를 준 거 같음

그리고 하루히 주위에는 민폐수준이지만 미쿠루에게는 진짜로 폭력수준이라서 나도 보다가 아 이거 좀;;;싶었다 쿈이 썸남이자 보호자임 우리 아이 어떻게 키워야 할까요
그래도 하루히랑 쿈의 관계는 보기 좋았다 이런 제멋대로인 여자아이에게 네네 또냐 하면서도 어울려주는 남자와 월드이즈마인의 극치를 달리면서 그 남자가 자기를 봐주는지 어떤지에 흔들리고 어울리지 않게 츤츤거리면서 나름의 신뢰관계와 인연을 쌓는 게 좋았음
근데 뭐 라노벨 주인공이라는 게 그런 거겠지만 하루히를 귀찮아하면서 어울려주고 도와주고 신경써주고 미래까지 걱정해주면서 호감도 츤츤거리면서 높게 갖고 있는 쿈이 내가 보기에는 이 sos단에서 제일 이상함 인간은 스즈미야 하루히에게 호감을 가지기 힘들어요 내가 하루히를 좋아하는 건 하루히가 작품 속 인물이라 그런거지 역시 라노벨 메인히로인효과...이 정도면 광기레벨이다

근데 그렇게까지 오타쿠역사적으로 인기있을 이유는 또 약간 모르겠음 엄청 재밌냐 하면그건 또 아니라서?...인기에 편승할 요소는 있지만 그게 어느 확률 이상으로 그럴 것이라는 느낌도 아니라서 역시 작품의 흥행은 그때의 시류나 운에 좌우된다는 건 맞는 말인 듯
그리고 코이즈미가 진짜 간신배같음 평화를 위한 간신배
