Well, after 14 years, my Write a Compiler course is having its final curtain call February 16-20. You can still get in on the action though dabeaz.com/compiler.html.

Honestly, it's hard for me to believe that taking a class like this out of a university setting would even work for as long as it did. I definitely had a blast teaching it! But, alas, all good things eventually come to an end. Time to rotate the crops.

요즘 중국산 키보드/마우스가 엄청난 가성비를 보이는데
마우스면 몰라도, 키보드는 구입을 신중히 고려하시길.
키보드는 입력 정보가 흘러나가면 바로 보안문제거든요.

일부 국가들은 공공기관에서 중국산 키보드 사용을 금지하고 있다고 하네요.

Rafah Reopens for 5 Patients as 20,000 Await Care, 900 Already Dead

Only a handful of sick and wounded Palestinians were allowed through the Rafah crossing on its first day of partial reopening, exposing the tight Israeli control imposed after more than 20 months of closure.

Although officials initially spoke of around 200 movements, Israel permitted the exit of just five patients, each accompanied by two relatives, while dozens were delayed or blocked by Israeli security checks and ambulances waited for hours at the border.

The limited reopening comes as around 20,000 Palestinians urgently need medical evacuation, including over 11,000 cancer patients, with Gaza’s healthcare system devastated by Israeli attacks, including the destruction of the Strip’s only specialized cancer hospital.

The World Health Organization says 900 patients have already died while waiting to leave Gaza, and Palestinian health officials report 4,000 patients with official referrals remain unable to cross.

Palestinian authorities stress that Rafah’s operation under Israeli control remains symbolic rather than humanitarian, allowing only a fraction of those in need to escape Gaza’s ongoing siege and bombardment.

마냥 실없는 소리는 아닌게... 중세 봉건제 시기의 농노는 영주에게 예속된 존재이긴 하지만, 변변찮아도 영주에게 받은 경작할 토지가 있었음 노예제에서의 노예는 주인의 재산이기 때문에 주인이 일단 관리는 해야함 안그러면 자기 재산이 죽어 없어지니까 자본주의 사회 노동자는 저들에 비해 "자유"로운 신분이지만, 누가 관리해주는것도 아니고 생산수단을 소유하지도 못해서, 자신의 노동을 노동력의 형태로 자본가에게 팔지 않으면 참 "자유롭게" 굶어죽게 됨

뭐 성심당 빵맛을 논한다면 최소값 구하기 문제라고 할 수 있슴다 처음 먹을 땐 돈도 없고 생각도 없었으나… 나중에 베이킹 배우고 나서 먹어보고 오히려 감탄함 빵이 빵이기 위해 필요한 재료는 다 있으나 그것을 궁극의 최적화해서 그 가성비가 나오게 만든 제품…

Ah yes, GNOME, it is of course my mistake that I used gconf-editor instead of dconf-editor. But at least now Gnome-Terminal no longer intercepts F11, so I can possibly use g-t to enter F11 into serial consoles to get the attention of a BIOS. If everything works in UEFI land.
