I want to take a second to remind people, particularly the new brooms, that the wheel of the year isn't entirely concrete nor is it required part of your practice (there are no requirements).
Due to the whos wheres and whats, the Wheel of the Year is very eurocentric. If you're like me, you may live somewhere in which February is typically the harshest, snowiest, bitterest part of the winter, so February 1 does not feel like spring approaching in the slightest. And that's ok. You can choose to quietly honor it with a candle, you can go all out, you can wait a few weeks until it feels more in line with your climate and latitude. You can simply acknowledge the lengthening days and returning light, even if the weather doesn't match the celebration. You can chose to focus primarily on the equinoxes and solstices if that's what you prefer.
Witchcraft is a craft, and you're allowed to approach that craft in any way that feels comfortable to you. (just repsect other cultures and closed practices, pls)
