Yesterday I tried using opencode (so you don't have to).

I want a simple clipboard based crop-and-censor functionality in my image viewer, like I always had in IrfanView. But it's work and I have better things to do.

I randomly tried out opencode, and for a limited time they offer free use of the 1T params Kimi K2.5, so why not? I wrote the prompt and let it run for half an hour or so.

The result is in the video below, and while being a bit janky, it works.

I threw it away.

Would you use a tool to invite your friends and family to join the Fediverse which would help them automatically follow you from their new account?

😳 “The law is the most serious legislative attack on in many years, and the fear is that other states will follow suit”
🙄 “requires all riders 17 and older to have driver’s licenses, registration and insurance (which may not even be available and proof of which they must carry with them while riding) and wear a state-approved motorcycle helmet. Riders 15 or 16 years old will need to acquire a ‘motorized license.’” usa.streetsblog.org/2026/01/27

an unpopular opinion i have is that the new memes are as good as the old memes. the memes have always been good. the memes that were around when i was 15 are great, and the 15 year olds nowadays are also making some really good memes. i also see a lot of similarities in the memes. theres some kind of core sense of connection that all the memes give me. it gives me a strong feeling of "the kids are alright". theyre doing a good job

Here's actions on a couple of AI bills in Washington. (1/N)

"Policy cutoff" in is tomorrow,, and if bills don't make it through their first committee they're dead for the session!

- SB 6312 prohibits "surveillance pricing"

- HB 2599 prohibits AI Chatbots from claiming to provide therapy, and regulates AI use by therapists.

The lijnks go to actions on Take Action Network (TAN). For more about how to use TAN actions, see our pinned post at pnw.zone/@waprivacy/1160080570

@marcoarment Following-up on the latest @atpfmAccidental Tech Podcast episode, my trusty Sennheiser HD-424X from the early 80s already had connectors at the earpiece level (although not standardized as nowadays).
Bought replacement earpads some years ago but seems they’re now very difficult to find (the product is nearly 50y old).
The hand band plastic is starting to get a bit sticky, so your other remark on plastic toxicity makes me a bit nervous to wear them again (which was quite rare these days anyway).

The state of things in Minneapolis is still appalling. Infants are going hungry or without diapers because their mothers are too afraid to go out for supplies, fearing ICE/CBP will pick them up. 19thnews.org/2026/02/minneapol

Russia struck a crowded area in Zaporizhzhia with a drone.

Two teenagers — both 18 — were killed.

Eight more people were injured, including three children. A 15-year-old girl is in critical condition.

The air raid alert in the region has been ongoing for nearly 24 hours.

I'm talking about all of the misogyny crap today because folks keep speaking for me and saying I'm one of Fedi's big boosters.

It's true, I do prefer this place to corporate driven social media. But I want to be abundantly clear, I don't feel welcome here. Not really.

I get garbage sent my way that would give you therapy bills. And largely, as a quirk of decentralization, most of you won't ever see it.

Fedi is like being gaslit, every time I use it. And I need to flipping say that.

Apple swapped the start up options screen on Macs from holding down Option after power up to holding down the power button on power up. It's certainly more consistent but makes it impossible to do remotely. Really would be nice if they supported both.

Say what you will about state violence, but •orderly• state violence — an officer with a face and a badge, Miranda rights, an orderly booking, the constitutional phone call, the jail roster, the habeas corpus petition, a trial, a system, a process, maybe once in a blue moon consequences for officers’ most egregious abuses — is infinitely preferable to what ICE is now: a secret police with blanket immunity.
