ハワイ州などでは郵便投票も一般的になっていて、その場合は郵送されてきた無記名のマークシートに投票先をマークして、投票先を隠すスリーブに入れて、それを、投票する人の名前とID番号の書いてある返信用封筒に署名したものに入れて郵便で返送するみたい。開票する人が返信用封筒のIDと署名で投票権を確認してからマークシートを取り出すことによって投票の秘密は確保されるんだけど、マークシートを書くときに強制されていないことは確認できないので、投票の自由は弱くなってる気がするんだよね。
