예전 어디서 들은 괴담인데 (내가 실제 목격하지는 못해서 애써 괴담으로 취급하려고 한다) 회사 문화 국제화를 위해 사내 이메일은 무조건 영어로만 쓰라고 했더니, 영어를 쓰긴 하는데 수신자 이름에 영어로 직함존칭을 붙이고 있다는 이야기를 들었다. 홍길동 부장이면 "Dear Gildong," 대신 "Dear Hong BJN," (BuJangNim)으로 쓰는 식. 그외 JMN ISN GJN 등등등... 언어적으로 "틀린" 것은 아닐 것이다. 영어에도 "H.E." 같은 표현은 있으니까. 단지 언어를 바꾼다고 문화가 바뀔 리는 없다는 거다.

러시아 여성의 날 본의미를 정말 기억하는지는 몰라도 진지하게 챙겨서 어떤 한국분이 꽃집 알바를 하는데 폐점 시간 가까이 되어서 무슨 불곰 같은 남정네들이 몰려와 장미를 달라고 문을 두드려서 무서웠는데 들어보니 장미를 달라고 애걸중이었다. 그래서 어리둥절하면서 장미를 파니까 당신이 우리를 살렸다고 감사해하면서 갔다. 알고보니 여성의 날이었다, 란 이야기도 있었지......

たとえば、今日、入門書記事に加えたこちらを読むと、日本型文明の世界や西欧型文明が唯一の世界ではないことが類型として理解でき、文学作品や芸術、歴史を見る目が豊かになります。

なんか俗悪なハウトゥー本みたいに見えるかもだけど、著者の加藤先生はストラブール大学の世界的聖書学者トロクメ教授のもとで修行した国際的評価も高い神学者なので、確かです。

The deliberate conscious effort that we humans require to do anything, like make art or write an academic paper, has been belittled and glossed over.

Instead results are glamorously prized as the product of success, and the amount of effort that it took to get there is hidden away in shame.

AI is the obscene extreme to that mentality: not more thinking, effort, work, anything— get the result now. While it was that exact effort that made us human in the first place.

『夕陽のガンマン』を繰り返し観直して、イーストウッド演じる名無しの男が、千葉市の映画館を訪れる様子を脳内で何度も、何度もイメージトレーニングした。 歩き方や、咥え煙草のしかめ面なども真似た。これで、誰も自分を18歳以下だと思わないだろう。どこからどう見ても大人の男だ。バカなので本気でそう考えていた。 そして、公開初日。千葉市の映画館の窓口でイーストウッドの口調をイメージして、しかめ面のまま(自己イメージでは)渋い声で窓口のお姉さんに告げたのだ。 「アイズ…ワイド…シャット…」 この時のことを思い出そうとすると、中年になった今でも恥ずかしくて死にたくなる。
