• Official support for wasm (WebAssembly), allowing to run pandoc in the browser,
• the *alerts* extension is now available in the pandoc Markdown flavor,
• support for defaults files using JSON instead of YAML,
• extension of `${.}` vars in the `defaults` field, making it easier to base defaults files on other defaults,
• method to run Lua code with a modified pandoc state,
• and much more

“pandoc for the people”, the pandoc wasm web-app, is now available at https://pandoc.org/app/
It allows to run any kind of document conversion that pandoc supports in the browser. The documents never leave the computer, thus ensuring *full privacy*.
Conversions to pdf are done via Typst.

Top tip for all you #offgrid folk out there - go and have a widdle before doing lead-acid battery maintenance.
It may lead to one of those "I can just manage this cell, then I'll have to run" moments, then you forget the noise the deionised water makes when you pour it into the dispenser, let alone the slow. controlled dribble into each cell.
Also, it's 4°C out there - that doesn't help.

I'd avoid MoltBook completely, but OpenClaw is useful.
If you are doing anything useful with LLMs, run a local OpenClaw instance or put it on an old machine.
I have mine giving me daily briefings and tracking todos for me. I can see the weather, tips on how to dress the kids, track school events, birthdays, important upcoming events, and a ton of small details I have always wanted.
I don't think it's doing anything; all operating systems won't have the option of doing for you in five years.

Die Luft wird aus meiner Sicht dünn für das Fediverse.
Immer mehr Länder führen ein Mindestalter für Social Media ein. Zum Teil wird eine Altersverifikation von den Plattformen verlangt bzw soll verlangt werden.
Wenn uns für das Fediverse nicht bald eine technische Lösung dafür einfällt, können unsere Instanzen wohl bald schon nicht mehr legal betrieben werden und wir können wohl alle dicht machen 🫣.
Ich bin wirklich verwundert über die Ruhe hier. Und darüber, dass das Thema irgendwie komplett ignoriert oder verschlafen wird? 😶🌫️
