The culture here can be pretty toxic. Too much gate-keeping, tone policing, scolding people instead of leading by example.
And without reply controls, no tools to protect yourself from this.
What do y'all think about this? I was inspired by stage0 and live-bootstrap. So I decided to take a crack at doing bare metal RISC-V code.
A measly 25% decrease after an increase of…what, 10x? 20x? feels like 100x?
With no timeline? no transparency, no accountability?
And they’ll wear body cameras? eventually? they say? with footage that…who can view, again? Oh, we don’t know??
This all means nothing — •nothing• — except that they’re afraid: afraid of losing funding, afraid of consequences.

I was planning on visiting Ferrara once again - maybe an early spring, maybe a late March or so. But...
1. I need to lose some weight - Ferrara is a place where kilos are gained very, very easily - colazione in Caffe Italiano, pre-lunch desert at Pasticceria Carli, pizza in Mordi e Fuggi, an ice cream, then a dinner and a few beers at the XI Comandamento. So I need to be prepared.
2. it needs to be a home match of S.P.A.L.... ehm, I mean, Ars et Labor Ferrara Calcio.. which is usually played on Sunday so it's not possible for me to just use my days off during the "short week"
3. And I also need to be there during the weekday because I want to visit the coffee roasters Krifi Caffe..

if we had 100% portability, we should have an intro server. only allow people on there for a couple months but we could give it extra moderation and hand holding. everybody would know to give these folks an extra level of consideration.
Yesterday I've been social for a couple of hours and coupled with the unexpected -6 Celsius icy trek I had to take due to unforced public transport mishap, today I'm exhausted and I can barely focus on anything requiring any mental work. :(
Still I got to meet a bunch of cool people and bored them with talk about my passion project, so all's good. :)

Since DuckDuckGo has decided to regionalize all my search results even when no region is selected (why?!? 😩),
Making my work impossible (I don't spend my day writing about Canada DuckDuckGo! 🙄),
I have started to use 
@MojeekMojeek Search Engine and I must say that it is a real joy. I find what I'm looking for much quicker, no patronizing regionalization based on IP, and no AI pollution. It feels like I found back the 2010s web and I'm here for it.

I really hate to say it, but at least on a test project, this Xcode 26.3 coding agent stuff is pretty good. I can see why some are going gaga over it.
My main concern (other than copyright, which for some reason companies seem to ignore) is that it makes it to easy to just trust the generated code. You start reading things line by line and after a few minutes its hard not to skim over the suggested bits that get added.

I dreamed I was running away from Bill Gates to release my monochrome classic Mac software
i drew this so i could use it as a mastodon banner. it took *forever* to get the body twist right.
anyway i stayed up late working on it and am experiencing something similar to semantic satiation with it, where it just looks like colored shapes now and not art really (but i'm also too stubborn not to use it as the banner now that it's done)
