some thoughts on how to implement public community spaces in atproto. I think it is important for us to stretch what the protocol can do; and there are some great opportunities for self-hosting, moderation, customization, etc

stymied by Apple's after seizing journalist's

The Federal Bureau of Investigation has so far been unable to access data from a reporter's iPhone because it was protected by Apple's Lockdown Mode when agents seized the device from the reporter's home, the US government said in a court filing.

yup.

people never seem to remember Trump spread the lie Obama wasn’t born in the United States.

USA is in full fascist mode thanks to a KKK carnival barker foaming at the mouth about a Black man’s birth certificate.

It’s crazy to think that the only browser giving Chrome any kind of competition is Safari. And that’s a very distant second. Chrome has about 70% global market share, Safari about 20%, and everything else hangs around 1-2% or less.

This should not be, no one browser should be allowed to be that dominant.

```
>>> strs = ["foo", "bar", "baz"]
>>> from icy_you import Collator
>>> c = Collator("en-us")
>>> list(sorted(strs, key=c.key_func))
['bar', 'baz', 'foo']
>>> list(sorted(strs, key=c.as_sort_key))
['bar', 'baz', 'foo']
```

Nice to be able to both compute explicit and implicit sort keys! Next up, getting all the optional arguments for strength, case sensitivity, etc.

Well, everyone, you can now submit a comment to let the FCC know what you think about SpaceX asking for 1 million satellites for "AI datacenters" whatever the fuck that means.

docs.fcc.gov/public/attachment

Comments due March 6.

I am having a very hard time believing this is really happening. Fuck you, SpaceX, and fuck you, FCC. This is not regulation, this is a fucking joke, that will destroy our ability to use satellites for centuries.

Hungary's fascist leader, Viktor Orbán, didn't have as easy a time bringing media under his control as Trump is doing in America -- but he also didn't have a few massive technology oligarchs on his side.

Not a hint on the Washington Post's homepage that it just gutted key parts of its news staff.

Similar actions, including agents entering private property without a issued by a court, have drawn concern from groups across the country amid ’s mass efforts.

In a memo last week, Todd Lyons, the acting head of , emphasized that agents should not make an without an administrative arrest issued by a supervisor unless they develop probable cause to believe the person is likely to escape from the scene.

But the judge heard evidence that agents in have arrested people in sweeps without such warrants or determining escape was likely.

That included testimony from one plaintiff, Victor Cruz Gamez, a 56-year-old grandfather who has been in the U.S. since 1999. He told the court he was arrested & held in an immigration detention facility for three weeks despite having a valid work permit & a pending visa application.

The community resistance to in can, and should, be replicated all over the country.

Please. Even if ICE or other loyalists aren't active in your community, there's a lot you can do to help others. Or you could donate, or volunteer services. Or show others what *they* might not know they can do.
