Hackers' Pub is a place for software engineers to share their knowledge and experience with each other. It's also an ActivityPub-enabled social network, so you can follow your favorite hackers in the fediverse and get their latest posts in your feed.
The Cosmic Owl is two galaxies that crashed into each other, creating overlapping ring-shaped splashes of stars. It measures 150,000 light years from side to side, or about 10^20 times the size of a Great Grey Owl on Earth.
When the state sponsored threat actor has vibe coded their entire control server, all the login code is client-side, and they’ve infected themselves with their own malware.

Is there an article, blog or book that shows how to structure C++ projects in a functional way or rather non-OOP way? Most of the articles I've read just shows off the `<functional>` header isolated from context. That's cool and all, but if I end up with classes that just use the `functional` header, it's not really functional/non-OOP.
The reason why I'm asking is that, when I write C++, the very first instinct I have is to ask "Can this be represented as an object?" and most of the time, the answer is yes.
I heard a tech exec speak last year, and I’ve been puzzling for months over how to characterize the weirdly dazed, distracted way he was clumsily conveying the world-shaking realizations he’d been having by interacting with AI chatbots.
Billionaires are worried about the Greta Thunberg type of protesting, which, on the ground, is a modest movement. But it's subversive, it tries to cause crisis. it's a type of protest that topples power structures.
Notice how billionaires never seem to worry about branded activism like #NoKings. It's because those types of protests don't apply pressure to those who wield power.
You where all thinking it. And the answer is 'yes!'. Yes you can totally LASER engrave a banana to exfiltrate data from your secured premises. Just out of the machine the text is barely noticable. But the next morning? Clear as day.
"Plenty of services can help you to “create a professional-looking website without writing a single line of code.” Now, thanks to Zonelets, you can create an UNPROFESSIONAL-looking website by writing NUMEROUS lines of code!" https://zonelets.net
I see the Social Web Foundation, one of the organisations which works on the #Fediverse 's underlying technology, ActivityPub, is chasing the slop tsunami. I started looking into who is behind those organisations and what they do but after I found ex-microsoft CEOs, web3 people and orgs set up to work on bluesky's underlying tech, I just gave up looking. I didn't want to see any more.
A Sunday of dopamine decor: I put some of the little gems I collected, stickers, prints, postcards into 2 giant frames to put in the office. Also, I made ramen with chicken broth that simmered for hours in spices and wine.
"At the heart of fascism and authoritarianism and capitalism itself is an obsession with hurting children.
We tell ourselves an incredibly comforting story in the United States of America. Children are our future. Our greatest resource. You’ll hear politicians from both sides of the aisle say as much."
What they don't mention is how panic-inducing it is to arrive at the airport two hours before departure and find a sign that says long-term parking is full.
