People who know more about Asterisk than I do:

I have a device that will give me sound data, hook status, and tell me when a button is pressed. If I want to plumb this into Asterisk, what's the best approach? I'd rather not deal with an out of tree channel, so it /seems/ like ARI+chan_websocket is the best approach, but I'm not clear on how I'm supposed to know that enough digits have been entered to initiate a call, for instance (just keep originating with a longer set of numbers every time?)

After two weeks with motions I get the hang of some things but need more time for cursor positioning.

Like how deleting to the end of a line after a space to reword something, and pasting would restore the original line, but when you 'i' insert instead of paste, you type "in front of" the space character instead of after.

Keeping track of the actual cursor position (and picking 'a' to append to the line after the space instead of 'i' to insert before) confuses me a bit still.

Great. Took a 7:15 train to get to the office on time so I’d have some time to re-read my notes and set up my laptop etc before teaching a lecture at 8:45, but because of a “power failure” there are no trains between The Hague and Delft, so now I’m sardined into a delayed street, and will, in a best-case scenario, run sweatily into the lecture hall at 8:45 sharp 😩

At least there is a streetcar, I guess.

Miles Deutscher

Twenty seconds just now on Github from zero to displaying date of a repo's last commit.

No more than ten percent of the blame for that can go to whoever thought they needed to put an entire user manual complete with half a dozen pictures in the README.

Meanwhile Github itself needed 221 requests to finish loading the app components needed to summarize a repo.

Microsoft you fucked up a perfectly good code repository site. look at it. it's got anxiety.

Fox news nonsense

Do you think the fireworks exploding from power poles while Bad Bunny waved a Puerto Rican flag and sang "El Apagón" ("The Blackout") could possibly have been political in nature? Or was it the sugar cane and Ricky Martin singing "Lo Que Le Pasó a Hawaii" ("What happened to Hawaii") that gave it away? 🙃

Fox news: "Bad Bunny's halftime show ripped for language barrier, suspected political message"
