I've used the #Fediverse, mostly #Mastodon for over 8 years. Should #AgeVerification come to .social that will end my time here. Should Age Verification come to most other large instances, that will end my time on the Fediverse as it will no longer be a place that is safe or sane for #LGBTQIA folks, especially us #Transgender folks living in many places where governments are actively restricting our rights.

Before posting "Y sucks", have you perhaps considered you might just personally not like Y?
Before posting "you should use Z instead", have you perhaps considered that other people might just personally not like Z?
People are allowed to have different preferences and desires and priorities. That is part of what makes us human.
If you want to replace Y, *listen* to what the users of Y want. Otherwise you are just shouting into the void, and making them want to try Z even less.
We are now running all Parch Linux infrastructure on Parch Linux itself.
This is an important milestone for us. We trust our own system in production. Build, CI, repositories, services. All powered by Parch.
We are also preparing to unveil a dedicated Parch Server edition. It is designed to be practical and accessible for everyone. It includes several focused features that we will explain soon in a detailed post on the official Parch Linux English blog.

The UK has announced plans to fast-track legislation requiring “age verification for VPN use”. The correct term, however, is not age verification but identity verification.
A law like this would require everyone to identify themselves in order to use a VPN. This would pose a risk to whistleblowers, violate human rights, and represent yet another step toward an authoritarian society.

I’m trying out #loops, and apart from minor edges, I really like it. I wish more creators would produce content, it’s still a lot of memes, and I never know whether the person I’m currently watching is actually a creator on Loops. I’m sure this will improve once all the app store versions have dropped. I love that there’s an option to use an algorithm, though it needs some work. e.g. Only show me loops in languages I can understand and never show me a loop I’ve already watched. Also, the energy level of suggested loops fluctuates too much for my taste. e.g If I’m calmly vibing with nature recordings, I don’t want to jump into a loud, noisy rock concert with the next swipe.
The UI is simple and beautiful, but the categorized notifications feel unnecessarily complicated. I’d like them all in the same view, maybe separated by tabs if any separation is needed. I will definitely use it to share my animated work. If you want to share something give it a try 💛 🔁 #loopsvideo
