Asked Christine what she thought of my UX for what happens when there's such a high ratio between number of glyphs and number of bytes it causes a problem with ATProto. My test for this was to paste long strings of the shrugging woman emoji 🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️ but what Christine got hung up on is that if you paste a line of 🤷‍♀️s into an <input> or <textarea> in Firefox then delete them one character at a time, you delete the woman's gender before you delete her herself, causing her shirt to flash briefly red

Jorge got a little hotspot on his side - nothing serious, just got over-licky - so he has a t-shirt for a few days. Getting his front legs in the sleeves was a no-go - so I cut them off.

I give you: Gym-Bro Jorge.

To be clear, he thinks it’s great that you’re recording your workout to check your form and he’ll even make sure you’re in frame and in focus if you want. He offers to spot everyone. He doesn’t ogle the ladies at the gym. He is sure those new sneakers will make you go faster.

Jorge, a solid grey cat with green eyes, resting on my leg with his head and paws on my knee. He has a grey “softball style” t-shirt on that is grey with red sleeves and red at the collar. The sleeves had to be cut off for ease of getting it on him and now he looks like he’s ready to go to the gym.

Matrix has many incentives to lie or mislead. Their leadership includes the CEO of a company whose product is a Matrix client. There's active political talks about the EU investing heavily in Matrix. He's got a vested interest in looking good, even at the expense of doing or even being good.

On the other hand, I have nothing to gain. If everyone switches to Matrix tomorrow, nothing in my life changes. If Matrix self-implodes and everyone goes back to XMPP tomorrow, nothing in my lfie changes.

The only things I want are:

  1. End-to-end encryption to be better.
  2. End-to-end encryption to become ubiquitous for communication protocols and apps.
  3. The large tech companies whose business models involve privacy violations and stealing from artists and other creative workers to burn down so gloriously that society forgets the word "billionaire" in twenty years.
