LLMs, creativity, social consequences

I also strongly believe that we should be doing everything possible *not* to normalize LLMs and diffusion models for general usecases. Sure, there are ways in which some of these techniques are super useful within specific fields, and I'm not saying we should never use them. But that is different from saying we should normalize ChatGPT and Gemini and so on.

I’ve just published the first article of a new series on my blog: “Django ORM standalone” 🧩

The idea is to use Django ORM in standalone mode to connect to existing or legacy databases and work only with the ORM, without the rest of Django, using inspectdb for reverse engineering the schema and querying data with Django QuerySets 🔎

일본에 본점을 두고 있는 커피톤야 (珈琲問屋)에 왔어요.

상당히 특이한 위치에 있는데 (조금 도심 외곽의 아파트 상가) 다양한 브루잉 도구들이 있고
무엇보다 수많은 생두들을 그 자리에서 직접 로스팅 해서 구매할 수 있다는 장점이 있어요.

첫 방문이기도 해서, 마침 세일을 하고 있던 파나마 에스메랄다 팔미라 에스테이트 SHB EP를 200g 구매해봤는데, 다시 드립을 내려 마셔볼까 싶어요.

아 이거 갑자기 생각나서 ㅋㅋㅋ 근데 솔직하게 말하면 그냥 예쁜 그림/멋진 글을 만들 실력은 없지만 나도 예쁜 그림/멋진 글을 만들었다고 자랑하고 싶어<인 거잖아요. 그러려면 연습(+피드백 수용도)을 해야 하지만 그건 지겹고 싫고 귀찮다 이거죠 그러니까 기존의 작가들이 만든 걸 쉽게 빠르게 훔쳐가서 AI로 택갈이하고 자기가 "그렸다/썼다"고 우기는 거 아님 그건 저작권 무시하고 학습한 자료를 이용한 부당한 도둑강도질이지 창작이 아님 근데 부당한 도둑질을 민주화라고 부르면… 원래 인권이란게 일부 권력자에게만 있단 뜻임? 🤔🙄😑

People who craft things with their hands just amaze me. I'm so in awe of them.

My hands can't really do stuff now. Ten minutes of any kind of handwork and I'm in trouble. I have blah-blah-blah who gives a shit. Suffice to say I can't.

But, back in the day, I could *use* my hands.

And I have to tell you, I never did anything even remotely as cool as what y'all do. Not wood, not lace, not leather, not knitting, not sewing, not soldering, not weaving, none of that.

I am in awe.
