처음 다뤄보는 프레임워크에 오류가 나서 코파일럿한테 시켜봄 근데 설정 수십개 뒤적거리고 말도 안 되는 명령어 추가하면서 오류 고쳤다길래 다시 해보니 또 다른 오류 생기고 오늘따라 멍청하길래 뭐지 했는데 모델이 GPT 로 되어 있었음 초기화 시키고 클로드로 바꾸니까 한 줄 추가해서 오류 고침

Oh my gosh, these AR filters are working better than expected, and I will be bringing these to the Pixelfed app later this year!

Eventually, I'd like to build an AR marketplace to allow anyone to submit 3rd party filters that could be used in our ecosystem.

Shoutout to Apple for their amazingly powerful APIs, this took a lot of researching and experimentation, there are no available libraries or packages for this...

I wonder why? 😎

Lazy web, I'm looking for a toggle to disable Copilot Reviews in GitHub repos.

When a PR contributor has Copilot enabled, they can essentially override the maintainers' wish not to enable Copilot reviews. Unless the repo is in an Enterprise organization, where it can be blocked at the org level.

github.blog/open-source/mainta ignored this and even claimed an "Eternal September" (sloppy nostalgia), while the most obvious thing wasn't mentioned.

Common feedback that Apple Wallet Transit Cards are great (they are) and maybe equally as good as contactless debit/credit card with Apple Pay.

Which is true once are setup.

But for a visitor to a city they still require one more question: how much money add or what type of pass) that contactless travel takes away (just tap).

Some way to go to make complexity feel intuitive, but I think we're getting there.

Can I use my contactless credit / debit card / Apple Pay / Google Pay? If YES, only one more question: Is Express Transit Mode also supported? If NO Can I add a transit card to my Apple Wallet or Google Wallet? If YES, Express Transit Mode is supported by default. No apps needed. If NO What app do I need or how do I buy a physical smart card or ticket?

I'm getting very sick of seeing friends with far less experience walking into jobs paying €100k+ while I'm maybe taking home €320 a week, half of that the dole, half from 30 hours a month of contract work. I'm getting increasingly angry at the world, because I cannot understand what I am doing wrong in life. It makes no sense. 😞

I remember about 2018 or so, when I joined my first meetup. It was when the CG was still strongly tied to community.

There were mundane items on the agenda, interesting to any dev, and also the call to action was "whether you are technical or not at all, join the meetup, we are open and inclusive to all fedizens". Very friendly, good vibes.

However during the session the talk was not only CS expert level, but dealing with subject matter nowhere near the spec. It was 'wire reality' slang, and to learn it the guidance was either nowhere, or everywhere, dispersed. And this is still as it is today. To expertised AP developers their domain language sounds all natural, but it likely seems Martian to a dev newcomer.

Stark contrast to the W3C specs that leave folks with refreshing "Let's implement this" vibe.

The center indicates a low level of complexity. On the left side of the axis we first find the ActivityPub open standard, with a relatively low complexity level. However the prevailing method to evolving the ecosystem is driven by post facto interoperability, where tech debt and protocol decay is introduced and accepted, which must be refactored and evolve alongside the open standard. Since this doesn’t happen, the fediverse grassroots environment is shifting more to the left into non-lineary increasing accidental complexity. Deviating more and more from the ActivityPub standard and the promise that it holds to offer the Future of Social networking. On the right side, to contrast against fediverse, we find the Solid Project led by Sir Tim Berners-Lee, which is based on a whole range of W3C Linked Data related open standards and draft documents. There is no grassroots movement that drives progress, but a steering committee. Progress is restrained by open standards adoption and support. Higher levels of interoperability require more rigour and formal standardization, and this also leads to non-linear growth of, in this case, engineered complexity. Solution developers have to wait for many standards to mature, leading to inertia.

I just figured out, that what small instances really need, is to decrease lifetime of statuses without interaction comming from really hyperactive domains, like eg. pubeurope.com

Without this, our database and media cache size is going to spiral out control.

This should work more or less like Watt's regulator of steam engine pressure: simple tool, auto-detecting domains flooding federated timeline. No need for domain bans, when the content is moatly harmless, but there is just too much of it.

The tootctl command line utility is much easier code to try some hacking, so modifying the "tootctl statuses" section doesn't seem so impossible, like hacking the Ruby on rails backend or React frontend. It is one simple SQL query.

But it would be nice, if moderators could fine-tune the lifetimes of statuses-without-interaction from individual instances, instead of full blocking.
