folx in given 1 day to surrender their (now invalid) IDs and driver's licenses to the state. As of tomorrow (Thursday), driving while trans is a class-B misdemeanor ($1000 fine and up to 6 months in jail).

The zero-grace-period execution means driving to turn in your license is a crime.

Oh yeah, this bill also enacted a bathroom bounty program allowing private individuals to sue trans folx for using the restroom.

If you replace a junior with and make the senior review output, the reviewer is now scanning for rare but catastrophic errors scattered across a much larger output surface due to LLM "productivity."

That's a cognitively brutal task.

Humans are terrible at sustained vigilance for rare events in high-volume streams. Aviation, nuclear, radiology all have extensive literature on exactly this failure mode.

I propose any productivity gains will be consumed by false negative review failures.

laserdisc capturing and deinterlacing and comb filtering is an art form. And a really fun one!
With apologies for the likely slow download speeds you will encounter trying to play this file. Blame comcast (my ISP). But I really wanted the quality of the capture to shine through and preserve some of the analogue video noise.
It was really fun figuring out chaining ffmpeg and vapoursynth and getting the inverse telecine and temporal comb filters working (all under debian BTW). Not to mention variable frame rate for the 30fps bits of computer generated imagery at the start and end of the disc. Let it preload or download it!
