People cannot be trusted to use "megabyte" as a word. Too many people use it to refer to 1024 and not to the correct SI meaning of "mega."
This can be solved by introducing "kidi," "medi," "gidi," and so forth meaning "kilo (decimal)," "mega (decimal)" and so forth. These new prefixes are completely synonymous with kilo, mega, giga, and so forth, but have the advantage that sloppy developers from the 80s haven't misused them yet.

市民農園をトータル6年やってみた感想なんだけど、1年目はたぶん前年使ってた人の化成肥料が効いててとりきれないほど育つんだけど2年目からは有機肥料だけでは場所次第。元の土が良くなければ3年目にはタネを撒いても芽も出なくなる。雑草や芝がどんどん優位になってさつまいもすらまともに育たなかった。上手な人が毎日のようにお世話すれば違うんだろうけど週一回しか行けない状況では無理だった。だから肥料の輸入がもし止まったら各自が家庭菜園したってそんなにうまくいかないと思う。

the SI people are right and everybody doing it otherwise is wrong; you should never use the "K", "M", etc unit prefixes to mean factor of 1024. sure, with small enough sizes you can usually ignore it. but scale it up and you quickly run into trouble

『Anomalous Coffee Machine 2』는 길거리에 있는 '무엇이든 만들어주는 음료 자판기'에 단어를 입력하고, 그것을 마시며 변화하는 캐릭터를 보는 게임입니다. 전작 『Anomalous Coffee Machine』에서는 (Horu라고 불리는) 여성 캐릭터에게만 마시게 할 수 있었는데, 이번 작에서는 플레이어(남성) 캐릭터에게도 마실 수 있는 옵션이 추가되었습니다.
커피, 물 같은 음료에서 마시면 안 될 것 같은 독, 용암 같은 액체, 나아가 지식이라나 죽음 같은 단어까지 컵에 담아 마시는 이 게임은, 단어에 따라 캐릭터가 말을 하고, 마신 것에 따라 캐릭터가 변화하는 것을 즐기는 게임입니다. 캐릭터가 기괴한 모습으로 변한다거나, 끔찍하게 사망한다거나, 섹스를 한다거나 하는 움직이는 일러스트 묘사들을 볼 수 있고, 그 변화 가지수가 꽤 많습니다.
'컴플리트'하겠다는 생각으로는 꽤 골치가 아픈 게임으로 보입니다. Horu의 변화 도감만 800개가 넘어 보이던데…. 그냥 대충 단어를 넣어보고 이런 것도 만들었군, 이런 것도 있군 하면서 즐기기에는 시간을 잘 보낼 수 있는 게임입니다. 인터페이스가 다소 불편할 수도 있는데 뭐 어떻습니까. 이 게임에서 끝없이 죽음과 변형과 쾌락을 경험하는 캐릭터의 모습은 온 우주의 유의미한 행동에 지친 어떤 불멸하는 이들의 시간을 때우기 위한 행동양식이라는 느낌이 있고, 그건 어쩌면 이 게임을 굳이 플레이하는 사람의 모습이라고도 할 수 있겠습니다. 이 게임을 할 때에는 오히려 뭘 이뤄야겠다는 목적보다 그냥… 아무 생각 없이 단어들을 집어넣고, NSFW 장면을 불러오는 키워드를 입력해보고, 다른 단어를 집어넣는 일을 반복해보면 어떨까요.
뭔가 여기에 라캉스러운 키워드를 넣어서 이야기할 수도 있을 것 같은데….
