people talk about how USB-C standardisation saved us from needing different cables for stuff, but I also feel like a lot of people forget that "I might need USB Micro A, USB-C, or Lightning depending on which phone it is" was already orders of magnitude better than the insanity we used to deal with in the 2000s.
these are two real phone cables that I used to own. they only worked with a specific range of Sony Ericsson phones. (and don't get me started on charger cradles)

確かに、MITの報告書によると寄付はMITの上層部の了承を得ている。しかし上層部内でも反対意見が複数出ていて、上層部の1人によると当初は受け取らない意向を伊藤氏に伝えたものの、伊藤氏は反発して出所を隠す方法などを提案している(pp. 25-26)。その後上層部はいくつかの条件を付けて寄付の受け取りを認めている。

伊藤氏は2013年以降(エプスタイン氏が2008年に有罪判決を受けた後)にエプスタイン氏と繰り返し会っていて、寄付者として積極的に開拓している(pp. 10-11)。その際、メディアラボの複数のスタッフ等からエプスタイン氏が問題のある人物であることを告げられている(pp. 14, 16-18)。
また、2018年の新たな報道を受けてエプスタイン氏からのサポートは受けないと言っていたにもかかわらず、2019年になっても連絡を取り、寄付を受けようとしていた(p. 43)。結局スタッフに説得されてこの際の寄付は返却している(p. 44)。
その他、メディアラボへの寄付以外に、伊藤氏が立ち上げたベンチャー企業でも寄付を受けている(p. 18)。

本日復刻媽媽的手藝挑戰——乾炒麵腸
最大的挑戰是手剝麵腸（片或絲）。麵腸黏糊糊的，我又沒指甲。要剝得夠薄但又有一定長度實在不容易。但不夠薄的話，麵筋味會很重，調味也進不去。（← 真的要有愛才願意花時間做這種事欸）
剩下的調味、炒製就是小事。
今天用平底鍋跟氣炸鍋各做了一份，兒子都津津有味地吃完了。
（是說，我一直覺得麵腸只有這樣料理才稱得上一道食物。每次吃到外面那種切段的，都覺得是浪費食材……

One thing we know about the mass tech layoffs attributed to "AI" is that they follow a trend of mass tech layoffs that firms were formerly forced to admit were the result of their businesses contracting sharply after the lockdowns ended, when users didn't need nearly so many cloud services. By blaming the continuing layoffs on "AI," companies whose business continues to contract can tell investors that they are on the bleeding edge, not the contracting tail.
