I've fulfilled one of my life's greatest ambitions: to make a round tag cloud using #CSS only. Behold: https://abhinavsarkar.net/microblog.

I followed the https://css-tricks.com/using-css-to-set-text-inside-a-circle/ tutorial that demos a clever use of the shape-outside CSS property to achieve this. The tag cloud is responsive but is round only on screens larger than 640px.

It has happened to me so many times. I am trying to figure out something tricky, have spend considerable time without any success, cannot find any clues on the internet, give up and put the problem at the back on my queue.

Within a month or so, drops a new blog post or a Github PR or a new tool that does exactly what I want. Maybe I'm just lucky. Maybe I notice such things because I’m looking out for them passively. Either way, it feels great when solutions just fall into my lap.

I am relieved to learn that the mass-murdering dictator #Khamenei can no longer terrorise the #Iran‎ian people. I very much hope for the downfall of the entire regime in favour of a self-determined democracy.

However, the US' ultimate departure from international law through a "preventive" attack on Iran without evidence of an imminent threat should deeply concern us. Now is the time to form a European-led defence alliance of global democracies without the US.

OK fully dig the "Meshiverse" as a name. And am looking around to see if any efforts to bridge the Meshiverse into the Fediverse... so that when areas have internet black outs the mesh networks can survive, but when they hit a node that evnetually gets back on Internet protocol, it then bridges over to the open social web.

For instance Iran now has a near full internet black out so no good ways to get news on the ground out via IP.

Considering the audience of this network, I suppose I need to explicitly point out that the preceding post was _sarcasm_, and that I'm seeing just as much of the content here as I would on literally any other platform.

That's the point. The point is that they're not different in reality, You can tell yourself they are, but you're wrong, and giant sudden news stories reveal that to everybody, so you should stop telling the general public that The Fediverse is a flowering, sunny, green utopia.
