It enables would-be influencers to use that as a growth-hacking tactic in their arsenal. Whereby editing a post some time after it was published, will serve to remind all people who interacted with it before (by receiving the 'edited' notification). And for those who only favorited another stimulus and opportunity to boost the post as well.

It has at least a few times caused me to take action, unboosting, unfollowing, or muting.
Forgivable for typos and grammar goofs, but not to be used for engagement engineering.

Last night I went to a 70th birthday party and ended up sitting next to Frank.
Frank used to work as a computer programmer, because this was the 1970s to 90s and people had normal job titles that described real things, instead of "full stack orchestration engineer" or "solutions architect".
Anyway Frank's employer was the Victorian Attorney General's department. He wrote, updated and maintained in-house software for managing the court system, trial documentation managements and so on using low level languages.
The point of this post is that there was nothing special about this period of history that made it possible for government departments to write and maintain their own software to solve their own problems then but not now.
The complete lack of any in-house capacity to do this kind of thing is a political choice. Frank is a reminder of that.

@scottjenson there’s a just kicking off UX research project (that Scott just became aware of) that is doing work on the best messaging for this.
Bluesky is one product but also a microblog data type (like ActivityPub Notes type that Mastodon and others implement).
You can choose your account host completely separate even from your app with ATProto, so it’s different.
@borisBoris Mann @dmianDmian 🇪🇺 @scottjenson this is something that was designed into ActivityPub and has largely been ignored. We're doing a lot of work on it at the W3C SocialCG group.

I read a README file I wrote a few weeks ago and decided it didn't have enough information, so it's now twice as long with a lot more detail.
I'm the only one who will ever read or use the file, but I have learned I cannot rely on my own memory a few months or years from now when I need to revisit the project or do something similar.
Make notes! Make more notes. It's a text file, it won't take up much space but it might save you a bunch of time in the future.

X、開いた途端もうぎゅうぎゅうに文字詰められたtumblrみたいで、読む気失せるな。
インスタのストーリーでも文字ばかりのものは読む気なくなるのだけど、それ以上に。
縦スクロールと詳しく読むを押すという二度手間がもう時代に合わない（私だけ？）みたいにもなりつつあり、UIUXが必要な情報と乖離しすぎている。
ただ長い本音と悪口を浴びにいく場所になっているなあ。
企業の政治的態度で購入選択を変えるって、自分にはちょっとハードルもあったけど、今となってはそれくらいのちょっとした自分なりの倫理的な力学を日常に働かせるくらいのことはしてもいいだろうという気持ちになっている。
