One of the things about growing up Latin American, especially in the 90s, is that you get a very different perspective of LatAm artists that became big in the English-speaking world much later. Like, Ricky Martin was the cute little kid from Menudo long before he was the hot totally-straight-I-swear heartthrob doing world cup music, and Shakira was basically a Colombian Alanis Morrisette before she was the blonde bombshell reggaeton artist she is now.

Anyway all this to say listening to old Shakira stuff is great.

@smallcircles🫧 socialcoding.. I'd probably say a city, but more wide than dense, and a bit like Morrowind's map if you have played it. In the beginning, all of it looks empty and locations become visible when you discover them. You'll find more and more people, interesting posts etc. Though if you have niche interests and those who share them (if they exist) haven't moved to the fediverse yet, you might still be talking to the void a lot.

pkg 2.6.0 is reported to be broken.

`pkg lock ports-mgmt/pkg` is adviced until the issue is addressed.
I've done so as I've noticed the post at the time just pulling updates into my local ports repo.

Acccording to this another report, logic for deletion seems to become too aggressive.

At least on previous version 2.5.1, it can forcibly delete specific pkg only with "-f" option.
But the behavior mentioned in above report suggests that possibly deletions are done for anything depending on the pkg to be deleted, too.

Anyway, users of quarterly wouldn't be affected, as pkg 2.6.0 is not yet merged into 2026Q1.

It's official! This Sunday will be the last "leap forward" in BC!

As of next November, the Vancouver time zone in British Columbia, Canada will be referred to as "Pacific Time" and will be -7GMT permanently. (same as Yukon Territory which did this 2 years ago)

The presser was pretty cute actually. They had kids with little clocks, and they danced.

I would have preferred staying at Standard Time, but this will be ok too. It's interesting that Premier Eby made a point of (gently, as there were kids) insisting the delay of 6 years since the overwhelming survey response from British Columbians to eliminate the time change was due to waiting for the US West Coast states to do the same.

Now, BC has decided to push, and to lead by example.
