@SnoopJ it's particularly stupid because one of the decisions they frequently link as a citation (that comic book with AI generated art) was in fact deemed copyrightable for the portions that were not substantially machine generated (text, layout, etc.). Like yeah, if you shit out a midjourney image and trivially tweak it, that's not a human-authored work

(But I also think the copyright implications for code with multiple authors and FOSS licenses intertwined with generated code is going to be a fucking mess)

No offense to all of the IANALs but I will take apocalyptic takes on AI-assisted code authorship and copyright more seriously when I see it from actual lawyers with expertise in copyright and IP
