In my case, "at least 18.2 bits of information", but that seems to be an underestimate based on being unique amongst the recent visitors (~300k = 2^18). If they were independent, the information sources available on me would sum to about 75 bits).

However, most users aren't online most of the time. There's a strong chance that there are minutes, hours, or days between when the data is received and when it is read.

The problem with this is that sometimes hundreds or even thousands of servers receive the data within a few seconds -- and if they all verify the data with the third-party server immediately, it can swamp that server with requests.

it is incredibly validating to me that prominent foss people who for decades embodied and reinforced the false idea that "all that matters is code" are now predictably falling into the LLM slop fad because, surprise fucking surprise, they never gave a single shit about people and simply rode the movement to have a space where they could whitewash their morality-unencumbered nonsense.

If BBC’s reporting is correct, what we are seeing in Iran right now is the same playbook Israel used in Gaza. They aren’t sticking to military targets. They are targeting society, and the country’s culture and heritage. To what extent US targeting is following their lead is unclear, but hospitals, schools, historic landmarks, and civil infrastructure are being destroyed with the clear intent of collective punishment. It is abhorrent, heinous, and criminal.

As age-verification bullshit becomes more common, I am determined to simply not participate in any service or video game that requires it. The day I see the prompt, is the day I leave.
Maybe the government’s hope is that I stop participating in society, but I assure you that I will not. I’ll find or build alternatives, and refuse to comply with bad law.
I hope you will, too.
And as a silver lining, maybe the weird internet we end up creating as a result will suck less than the current one.

So, for my vala game framework "Veggies" I have made a bit more complex sample game.
This is "Shape Blaster" a very old 2013 demo from 'EnvatoTuts+' that was original med in XNA. So I converted it to my framework to test. Its not a full conversion, but good enough.
I think this proves that a rather decent tiny game with extra oomph can be done in this framework 😀.
