　旧統一教会は15年、「世界平和統一家庭連合」に名称を変えた。原田氏は朝日新聞に、教団幹部らから依頼を受け、変更が認められる3～4カ月前に文化庁の担当幹部に自ら電話し、名称変更を認めるよう求めたと証言した。「選挙の際に電話かけやビラ配りなどで大変お世話になったから、何か行動してやりたいと考えていた」という。”

So according to Trump Iran could have somehow bought a Tomahawk missile on the black market (I guess?) and fired that on a school, killing their own children. This is of course a ridiculous story that no one but Trump falls for, but it also means that yes, the school was hit by a Tomahawk missile and the US leadership knows it. What a weird way to admit what can only be seen as a war crime ... mastodon.social/@mattsheffield

Paint any principles and values on a flag but as long as the battle is scattered farmers holding feeble Copyright Law pitchforks against a vast drone army, its no use. Know thy enemy helps too. It's not proprietary code or corporations. It's hypercapitalism: The Rules of Battle.

Raise better men.

I often see how cis men refuse to intervene, call out, call in; in the work place, among friends, in public spaces.

Yup, that feels intimidating (trust me - I know. We know).

So: start talking about it with men you assume are allies; discuss how you all recognise sexism and hatred against women, and how you'll collectively act on it, and how you'll know when you succeed.

Starting points:

Don't awkwardly chuckle at sexist jokes, or remain silent. Ask: "what's funny about it? Explain it to me." Works a treat with racist "jokes", too.

When you're in a space full of men, and men only, ask out loud how this happened, and how you're going to change it. Not for the cookie points of bringing women in (to spaces that may well be hostile), but by putting in the actual labour of understanding what has kept them out so far. Fix the root cause, not the women.

My father told me once that he had had a conversation with Tony, around the time that I arrived, in which Tony had expressed some regret at the cost, in terms of family life, of his choice to pursue international academic stardom: the dinners left quietly on trays outside the study door, and missing the kids growing up.

Dad took that to heart, and made the decision to slip sideways from the academic track and into the operating systems team at the QUB Computer Centre (back when everything was so much more bespoke), and thence into special projects. No more papers, no wild life of travel, but rather a very present parent, whose study door was open to enquiring young minds.

So thank you, Tony, for what you gave me.

am i holding it wrong, or are the SvelteKit types not generating correctly? Zed editor bug?

I changed the return from `success` to `action`, it logs correctly, but the types are wrong. I deleted .svelte-kit and restarted everything - no luck :(

SvelteKit code for an enhanced submit function logging the action data with a TypeScript tooltip showing the wrong type.
