In Svenska, Jonathan = Johan. It's pronounced like “yo-one”. It’s one of the most common names in Sverige, so I joke, “If you can’t be the Johan you love, love the Johan you’re with.”

日本語だと「彼（女）」のようなgenderedな表現を避けるのが比較的容易だからジェンダー中立な表現を多用していたけど、それを機械翻訳すると“he”に翻訳されかねないというのは今まで考えたこともなかったな。そうなると、機械翻訳を意識するべき場面では、バイナリーな性自認を表明している相手に対しては明示的に「彼（女）」を使う方が安全なのかね。うーむ
