Penpot have announced their ambassador program and I’m excited and honoured to be part of the first cohort of ambassadors alongside some fantastic and inspiring folks. penpot.app/ambassador-program

Check out the announcement: community.penpot.app/t/penpot-

I’ll be building community where I'm based here in the UK but also wherever my connections to open source software and design take me and my work.

I’ve long been a supporter of Penpot and design needs reliable and dedicated tools and teams that support the growing need for design in open source software and transparent and open source design as a practice.

I can’t wait to get working on our collaborative library and share the liberating and collaborative nature of open source design facilitated via Penpot! 💖✏️

Come and join all the ambassadors Penpot Community Hours, 20th March at 3PM UTC.
Sign up here: app.formbricks.com/s/ko5b815vs

At the top there is a heart and pencil logo and the title 'penpot Ambassador'. The photo is of Eriol who is a slim, femme presenting person with light skin ton, pink and black glasses, pale pink hair, large hoop earrings and is holding a microphone while adjusting their glasses and smiling at the camera.

We've been weaning ourselves off ordering things from Amazon, so my wife went and ordered something big from a different retailer, who was actually advertising it at a lower price than Amazon. Well, after a week of waiting for the item to ship, it suddenly just arrived. Turns out the order was fulfilled through Amazon anyway.

thanks to AI demand, Lattice cannot make enough FPGAs to fulfill orders on iCE40's (and probably ECP5's) with less than a year of lead time. this is likely to cause supply chain issues for Glasgow revD

words cannot describe my contempt for this shit, and my disdain for anyone still pushing it

(there is no shortage or supply chain issues with the silicon itself. rather, the problem here is the resin used to make a part of the packaging. in theory it would be possible to just glue a die to the PCB and bond it out during assembly, in practice this would be prohibitively expensive as far as I know)

Over at @fedihost we get asked about character limits enough times for me to write this up in the hopes of heading off some support tickets.
fedihost.co/blog/slug/custom-m

Basically, the character limit is hard-coded so you have to run a branch to change the limit to over 500.
Do you guys think that should make the character limit easier to change?

Southern Ontario (or even Canadian) friends... my CAA membership expires in 4 days. Should I re-up so I can get help if I need it (battery assist/towing), or just put a reputable towing company in my address book? ($136/yr vs one-time towing cost of $250)

Didn't need CAA this year, but who knows. Car's 10 years old now, running fine for now.

Finally learned a skill that I’ve been trying to master for 15 years!! Power pulls require a huge amount of muscle control and puts a ton of force on your feet and ankles, so when I first tried to learn them, my coach said it was going to take a lot of muscle development to get there. And I finally got them!!

Seems as good a day as any to thank @hongminhee洪 民憙 (Hong Minhee) :nonbinary: and team for the exemplary work on @fedifyFedify: ActivityPub server framework. Following Fedify's big 2.0 release, my two largest interoperability pain points in @encyclia can be fixed. 🙂

github.com/fedify-dev/fedify/i means that people using @gotosocial will finally be able to follow @encyclia accounts soon (whenever I finish the upgrade).

github.com/fedify-dev/fedify/i will let me (and others) handle more account resolution edge cases and reduce failure mode traffic after Fedify 2.1 is out.

(Disclosure: Using the name and logo of Encyclia – symbolically, since Encyclia is not a legal entity – I have an active monthly donation to @fedifyFedify: ActivityPub server framework on OpenCollective. However, I do not believe that this is getting me any preferential treatment, and in my observation the Fedify project treats all contributors and downstream implementers with equal respect.)
