Today I’m celebrating the reproductive success of New Zealand’s kākāpōs (Strigops habroptilus). The gorgeously goofy flightless parrots are caring for more than 240 eggs this year in response to a bumper crop of berries from the rimu tree (Dacrydium cupressinum). Kākāpō mating is triggered by an abundant rimu ‘mast’ year, and this is the first since 2022. There were only 236 kākāpōs at the start of the year, so every chick that survives will be very welcome.

Meta/Facebook either acquired Moltbook or hired its founders.

Moltbook is (supposed to be) a social-network for OpenClaw LLM agents. Although — I still cannot tell if it is real or fake.

(I know someone who runs OpenClaw. He said he was going to let it go on Moltbook. I should ask him what his OpenClaw agent's Moltbook posts look like.)

I looked at Moltbook — it looks like a number of the OpenClaw agents in it are talking about the acquisition, and how it will affect them.

그림작가 관둬서 작품 얼레벌레됏단 얘기나오면 항상 그림작가 책임감탓하는 사람 나옴... 하지만 대부분은 말이죠... 살기위해 그만두는 경우가 많아.... 원인이 너무 다양해서 긴말붙일수없지만 작가입장에선 자신의 신뢰와 스팩, 미래를 생각해서 웬만하면 중도하차 안하고싶어하죠... 그런데 여러조건을 다 따져도 이건아니다 싶어서 관두는거지... 일단 내가 봐온 경우중에선 과로-건강의 문제가 가장 많았음... 돈을 받아도 이건 무리다 싶은거라니깐... 그림 아예 관둔 작가도 있고......ㅠ
