I've created a PR in #Nixkell, a simple #Nix #Haskell setup framework, to add support for easy building of statically-linked executables (https://github.com/pwm/nixkell/pull/50). I'd appreciate it if any Nixkell users gives it a try for their projects. I've been using this code for a couple of my projects, and it works fine for me, but I'd like to have more working examples.

I get a lot of my news from the Fediverse. I find @memeorandum and @Techmeme really useful as aggregators, but I also follow @cbcnews , @npr , @time and others on @Flipboard , and others like @nymagNew York Magazine from Threads.

Off the Fediverse, I usually listen to one opinion podcast and one headlines podcast per day, though, and I occasionally go to the CBC News app if I need reliable information about a breaking story.

지금 트럼프가 하는 말들 전형적인 트럼프식 협상법인데, 그동안 모두가 그 이면에 뜻을 찾으려 벌벌 기어댄 덕분에 전쟁에서까지 그 방법을 써먹기 시작했다. 이게 다 트럼프를 오냐오냐 해준게 원인이다. 사실 트럼프 자신도 이 협상법이 얼마나 리스키한지는 잘 알거다. 사업가시절 그렇게 하다가 엎어먹은게 얼마나 많은지도 잘 기억할거고. 많은 이들이 트럼프를 성공한 사업가로 기억하지만 사업가로서 그의 성적표는 그리 좋지 않았다. 그런데도 트럼프가 그 방법을 전쟁에까지 써먹는건, 이제 모두가 그걸 받아줄거란걸 알기 때문이다.

전쟁이 진행 중인 곳에 군을 보낸다는건 그냥 해외로 워킹홀리데이 다녀오는 그런게 아닙니다. 참전한다는 것이고, 그건 어떤 식으로든 손에 피를 묻히는 행위에 동조한다는 뜻입니다. 민간인들이 수만킬로미터 밖에서 전쟁에 대해서 가십처럼 소비하는 것과는 그 무게가 다릅니다. 물론, 싸워야 할 때도 있습니다. 당연히 있죠. 그래서 전쟁은 대의와 명분이 중요합니다. 그런데 이번 이란 전쟁은 그런게 있나요? 이번 전쟁은 과거 이라크전만큼의 명분도 없습니다.

뭐랄까...우리 사회는 해외 파병이라는 걸 너무 가볍게 생각하는거 같아. 아니 그 전에 전쟁을 너무 가볍게 생각하는 것 같음. 이미 국토에서 전쟁을 한번, 해외 파병을 통한 전쟁을 한번 치뤄봤는데도 말이야. 왜 그런가 생각을 해보면 굉장히 기이한 느낌이기도 하고. 달리 이야기하면 전쟁의 피해자들의 목소리가 그만큼 묻혔다는 생각도 들고.
