Die Stadt möchte gerne mein "Ja" für kurz nachdem sie verkündet hat, sie hätte kein Geld um RTW Fahrten ihrer Bürger*innen zu bezahlen**.

Genau mein Humor.

Had a vessel where their VSAT system kept failing at sea and presented with all sorts of AZ, EL dome errors so last week I booked a crane and swapped out the dome. Worked a treat no more errors until they went to sea again. So today I went back aboard and buzzed out the cable from the antenna control unit which was perfectly ok and decided to swap out the antenna control unit. To be 100% sure I volunteered to go out to see even though it was extremely rough out and the sea was breaking over the Peterhead breakwaters. To my delight after the vessel being thrown about for an hour the VSAT never skipped a beat and the crew were happy with their internet. Posting a picture although it doesn't look too rough in picture but I can assure you it was. I was holding on whilst watching the stats of the VSAT on my laptop.

Then I got to pglite. Yes, I can get *actual* relational database. Yes, getting it to work took me "only" half a day on a web page using indexeddb, but there is a slight problem: the performance is *abysmal* on indexedb. I started importing the documents that I had on pouchdb (4 weeks of daily driving the extension got me ~180k documents) which pouchdb exported in less than 20 seconds. But to import them to pglite on idb: 55ms for **each** document at the beginning, 120ms after 10k, 160ms on 20k

Join us for a virtual Town Hall Preview on Monday, March 23, 7pm UTC!: sigchi.org/events/sigchi-town-

Given how much is in flux around us this year, this will be a space for members to raise questions/concerns ahead of our annual town hall at CHI, where we update members on the state of the SIG and discuss key issues. We will also share initiatives we have been focusing on and get your input.

I am feeling seriously depressed about this, and also Reflect Orbital's no doubt similarly infuriating response that's due in a couple of days. I'm not sure what I expected, I guess I'm just not cynical enough to deal with current reality yet. Kessler Syndrome, here we come!!

Something I've never quite understood about the practice of setting version numbers in files tracked by git, rather than in git metadata like tags, is how you sequence updating version numbers when you cut a release?

Should the version number committed to the repo be for the next version, and you just have be diligent about making corresponding PRs incrementing versions when you cut releases?

Novanetz / GFS: Not even once.
