The idea that Office 365 is compliant for use in any regulated space is *absolutely laughable*, but apparently the reason GCC High is approved for government use is because the government let agencies use it while they were evaluating it, and then realized so many agencies were now dependent on it, that they had to approve it even though it wasn't able to actually meet the security criteria.

Having said that, it is always informative to look carefully at who benefits from the attitudes - and policies - that emerge from these false stories.

Gareth Hardin of "The Tragedy Of The Commons" fame, for example, was a hardcore white nationalist, nativist and eugenicist. Stockholm Syndrome was invented out of whole cloth to cover up police brutality and incompetence.

The list of empirically false but fun-to-retell stories that are also powerful as authoritarian propaganda is pretty long.

It's a very hard pill to swallow, especially given the panoptic, reflexive cruelty of this grudgefuck of a zeitgeist we're all presently stewing in and how easy it is to hit that boost or reply button, but one of the awful facts about high-semiotic-density memetic culture is that you might very easily be amplifying - and legitimizing - ideological positions you _don't even realize exist_ through the wonders of near-zero-friction and pushback-free participation.

My gut says that in recent decades there’s been a steady rise of widely-felt systemic loathing for corporations and their leaders generally, and for the ones people have to do business with specifically. Not limited to members of any one or two generations, either.

I guess the predictable result is an eventual head-on collision between the political power of corporate money and that of popular rage.

Here’s a quick summary of the improvements which gnome-software 50 contains:

- Reduce CPU priority when running in the background
- Remember window size between restarts
- Improved error reporting in the repositories dialogue
- Improved notifications for trivial flatpak app updates
- Lots of UI papercuts fixed
- Improved question about deleting data when uninstalling an app
- More safety reporting for uncommon flatpak app permissions

Finally tested this - it is possible to export your Facebook posts directly from your Facebook account into an ActivityPub enabled Wordpress account - all with just click and point steps, no coding required.

They appear to be appropriately backdated. Came in as "Not Federated" so there WOULD be an additional step to federate them. I would NOT suggest doing this if you already have tons of followers - they will most likely get spammed.

More testing to come. Not sure if media gets ported over.
