@quincy I've been lucky not to notice any sites I use having animated favicons, which would bother me as well. What I have done is set layout.frame_rate to 3 (frames per second) in most of my Firefox profiles, and 6 fps for amateur videos. I only use the default frame rate for watching professional videos.
