The #Fediverse ecosystem is so diverse and has many options that conform to/use the #ActivityPub protocol. At this point, this also means once you host a given application on a given domain, you are effectively locked into using the application on that domain and can’t use any other application in the future. There is a Mastodon monoculture growing bigger every day (because it is widely used and the most popular one) and some alternatives provide compatibility. But this is still insufficient.
