As much as I'd love Loops to go viral, I'm really glad it hasn't yet.

Last year, Pixelfed went viral, less than a week after shipping our mobile apps.

It was a very stressful time that I had to balance moderation, devops/SRE, backend dev and mobile dev, and that was before we had a team, it was just me.

So now, I've prepared a game plan to handle this a bit better, across the roles and with a more efficient/scalable backend.

Not ready yet, but I will be soon. πŸš€

RE: mastodon.social/@dansup/116046

It was wild.

For a few weeks, pixelfed.social was the largest fediverse server by MAU, even bigger than mastodon.social

We also launched our Kickstarter campaign a few days later, and I'll never forget the stress.

It was so cool to see my project go viral, but I was too stressed to do interviews or anything else than try to put out fires.

Protip: Build a team, it's hard to do everything yourself.
