잘 알지 못하는 위상수학의 세계로 들어간다. 숫자 8처럼 생긴 '8자 모양 공간(Figure-8 space)'의 기본군(Fundamental group)은 $\mathbb{Z} \times \mathbb{Z}$ , 즉 두 개의 생성원을 가진 자유군(Free Group)이다.

삼각형 기하학의 정수(no pun intended) 중 하나인 구점원이다. 삼각형의 각 변의 중점, 수선의 발, 수심과 꼭짓점을 잇는 선분의 중점인 총 9개의 점이 항상 한 원 위에 있다는 놀라운 정리이다.
