Who are these people who need to be told to boycott companies like Amazon for one week? Their annual turnover is $638 billion and always increasing. They make nearly two billion dollars a day. Even if every single person on the planet magnanimously didn't buy 'the thing' from them for one week, only to buy it the next, it would make no material difference. Even if everyone agreed not to buy 'that thing' from them they would otherwise have done, Amazon would still be up fifty one billion dollars on 2023 turnover. We need a culture shift. It's disgusting.

Today is my last day at Shopify. I joined in 2016 and had the time of my life, great engineering and people, they brought me to Canada and for that I’ll be eternally grateful. But they’re also proudly hosting swastikas for sale, taking the idea of “make commerce better for everyone” a little too literal, at any cost. It pains me to leave this way but I can’t let my name be associated with this in good conscience.

If you want to sell Swastikas online, Shopify will be happy to facilitate that.

A modest proposal.

Call a and start organising for it now, not for a specific date but for a triggering event.

For the US, if the US uses military force to annex any territory in Greenland, Canada, Panama, Gaza or wherever.

For other countries, same but the condition is the US does this and your government doesn't unambiguously oppose it within 24 hours.

I'm putting aside savings for mutual aid now.
