Don’t get me wrong—I value and respect the work CalMatters does. Independent, not-for-profit journalism is more important than ever.

That said, Dan Waters—the author of this piece—said something horrifying that needs to be called out: “Therefore if Newsom does intend to pursue the presidency in 2028, or otherwise remain in the political spotlight, aligning himself with popular sentiment on such a hot-button issue [whether or not to curtail trans participation in sports] is a smart tactical move.”

A SMART TACTICAL MOVE? ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME?!

Waters also says that 80% of Americans oppose allowing trans women to compete in women’s sports, including over two-thirds of Democrats. So what, the majority agrees, so that makes it okay? There was a time in American history when similar percentages were against same-sex and interracial marriages. There was also a time in American history when a majority of Americans approved of racial segregation. JUST BECAUSE THE MAJORITY LIKES IT DOESN’T MEAN IT’S RIGHT. I CAN’T FUCKING BELIEVE I HAVE TO SAY THIS OUT LOUD BECAUSE IT SHOULD BE SELF-EVIDENT, BUT HERE WE ARE.

Shame on you, CalMatters. Maybe I should’ve guessed that “nonpartisan” means normalizing fascism the way the NYT and WaPo do. Californians, and Americans in general, deserve better from an outlet that considers itself independent.

25/3/11 경제 이것저것 충격과 공포의 밤이 지나갔습니다. 분명히 이번주 CPI를 비롯한 주요 지표가 발표되니 중요하다고 이야기 하긴 했지만, 그보다 더 큰 트럼프의 아가리스크가 제대로 폭발하며 증시를 조져놨죠. 미 증시 이야기를 계속 하는게, 이게 국내 부동산과도 관계가 커졌기 때문입니다. 크립토커런시, 해외 투자가 활성화 된 이후 소위 말하는 '서학 개미'나 '비트코인'이 부동산에 영향을 많이 주기 시작했거든요. 테슬라를 비롯한 증시든, 코인이든 호오를 떠나 밀접한 연결이 되어 있다보니 계속 모니터링 할 수 밖에 없죠.

Because of ongoing issues with long covid, I've been reading aloud on stream instead of playing the violin for most of my streams. I've finally managed to get 2 of those stories their own videos :zerotwo_hype: (both of which are books in The Elder Scrolls universe)
