I am.... Upset. I had to reboot my personal Windows machine to finalize a driver update so I could play Monster Hunter, and upon rebooting, Windows sprang open some sort of new "welcome" dashboard which "helpfully" displayed a massive full color photo of someone EXTREMELY upsetting to see when I was not intentionally bracing myself to check how bad the news is today and it gave me a PTSD panic attack.
Allegedly turning off the Taskbar -> Widgets setting should prevent this, but we all know it will randomly turn back on for no reason
As Octodon is about to cease activities, I will migrate to another instance sooner or later, but still have to decide to which one.

The Great Stamps War of 1963 saw Tesco in the green corner with their Green Shield Stamps and Priceright in the pink corner with their American-financed pink stamps. Sainsbury’s didn’t support any colour - they were anti-stamp. It was all to do with customer loyalty and the thrill of receiving a “free” gift.

Why care about understanding how software metrics operate in the real world at scale? Because I see tech folks constantly talk big about using terrible aggregations that make no sense.
Just looked into this and it looks like 
@pixelfed doesn't support remote edits of the media after posting, which seems like a big issue. If I post the wrong photo and edit it here on Mastodon I would expect that edit to be propagated to anyone following me, but of course I know that is not the case with some software cause not everyone has written support for edits, but still this is something someone needs to be working on...
