Surgery mention, caffeinated bev mention, silly game

A guessing game!!
So, I'm offering a silly guessing game based on my recovery time from top surgery. As many of you know, I do handstands. Many of you might not know, however, that I do a handstand (technically a pair of them, but for this game, it's one (1)) before every caffeinated beverage I consume. I call these "Coffee Handstands" despite the fact that I do these for tea as well. When I can not do handstands, due to illness or injury, I keep a count (the "Coffee Handstands Count", and when I'm able again, I do 2 (technically 4, but for this count 2) before every beverage while I work the count back down.
When I sprained both wrists, that count got up to 205 before I could resume the practice.
I drink, on average, 2 coffees a day.
How high do *you* think the count will get while I'm recovering from top surgery??

The person who guesses the closest will win.. ..probably a small (postcard sized) painting that says "I'm a good guesser" or something. I haven't made it yet, but will reply to this post with a photo when I do.

Well, I've been mostly not paying attention to "news" for the past two weeks -- one because I was busy with book-publishing, two because I felt so much better emotionally as a result of not doomscrolling.

Over the past 2 days, I've checked back in with the collapse of civilization and see that it is continuing at a breakneck pace, just as expected.

I think I'm done for the foreseeable future. I'm done reading about it all, I'm done doomscrolling about it.

Devil May Cry apparently began life as a Resident Evil sequel, based in an engine derived from that series, and I loved the original but felt like it got worse as it went along. I loved the weird incongruous quietly contemplative moments towards the beginning of the game, the odd menu and inventory system. I kept hoping they would explore more of that but it turns out that they only left that stuff in because they couldn't cut it before they had to ship.

The social web beta is here

Building ActivityPub @index@activitypub.ghost.org

Today we're opening a public beta for our social web integration in Ghost. For the first time, any site on Ghost(Pro) can now try out ActivityPub.

For those of you who have been subscribed to this newsletter for the past year or so, thanks for your patience! It hasn't been easy to get this far, but we're excited to hear what you think as you become one of our very first explorers to launch into the Fediverse.

To help you get started, we've put together a detailed guide explaining how this new feature works, and what you can expect from using it in its current state.

Sent to voicemail by the governor's office after ~50s on hold. Called back and got a person surprisingly quickly.

Keep calling his office and your reps. Demand he resign and demand that your reps comment publicly.

Startlingly few are being quoted in the press and even fewer are publishing their own press releases and commenting on social media.
