macOSでMastodonを動かせないことはないだろうけどCで書かれたライブラリの一部は自分でビルドしないといけなさそうよね。下記の記事はずいぶん昔のもの。

I was able to get an instance of System 7 running in Basilisk 2 on both my Macbook Air and Mac Mini to connect to each other using AppleTalk!

1) Basilisk 2 preferences must have udptunnel set to true
and udpport set to the same port on all Basilisk 2 instances.
2) The Control Panel Sharing Setup must have File Sharing configured and started.
3) Guest user should have Allow guests to connect checked.

Thanks @oevl, you inspired me with your post last night.

I've moved my Mastodon account that posts screenshots of old websites to a new handle: @classicweb. It's a manually curated bot that posts memorable websites from the past, like this strange 2006 site that appeared out of nowhere (was it microblogging, was it a new form of txting? Nobody knew at that point...)

Then there was a trailer for the Latvian animation Flow which looks great and DIFFERENT and was made mostly in Blender which I literally have on my computer and makes you think, wow, I could....
"Daddy, can we go see Flow at the cinema?"
"We have Flow at home!"

I have a million text streams and emails flying around this morning and I'm about to take a damn flame thrower to auto carrot... 🚗 🥕

what's that line?
"Computer, if you don’t open that exit hatch this moment I shall go straight to your major data banks with a very large axe and give you a reprogramming you’ll never forget, is that clear?"

Got an "emergency" helpdesk ticket today, a customer lost communication between all six sites, which is critical for their operation.

Logged into the main firewall that all the other five sites connect to via VPN, as they have two internet connections with public IPs.

Found that all VPNs were down on both Internet connections, failover not working, and that no traffic was coming in on UDP 500/4500 on the wan side.

I suspected their CPE routers were the culprit, and wouldn't you know it, someone created a remote access IPSec connection on both routers, using the ports required by the firewall behind them.

Called the customer and they confirmed that some MSP that shall not be named had set up their own VPN access yesterday without telling anyone, nor testing if anything's still running. 😑

Scenarios like this make up most of my work: Fixing problems caused by other people who don't know what they're doing, but are smart enough to be dangerous.
